My Weight Loss Success

davidk14
davidk14: Over the last 8 months, I have intentionally reduced my weight by 89 pounds. I have a goal date of Dec 14 to lose a total of 95 pounds. I started at 275 pounds. I went from a 48 and now wear a loose 36 and lost 13 belt loops or 13 inches.

Once I lose the last 6 pounds, my long term goal is to lose another 5 pounds over the next 5 years.

Thanks !

My left knee had been bothering me to the point that I was taking off about one day per week off of work. I was also scoring pain meds at work too. So...if I went to a doctor he would have told be to lose the weight and perhaps suggest surgery. So...I decided on my own, to lose the weight. No weight loss meds or systems. No flour (ie: breads, pastries, tortilla's, breaded foods, pizza, pasta, etc.), no granulated sugars like cane or beet, and no soda of any kind. I take 3 multivitamins per day and a joint supplement.

And thanks again for the kind comments.

Good job west. It's all about choice. Keep up the good work.

Since my last post, I have lost another 4 pounds. I have now lost 98 pounds and was gonna hold at 178 but recently decided to go to 175, to be down 100 pounds.

SInce I lost the weight in a relitively short period of time, sometimes if feels like my brain has not caught up. My equalibrium is off a little as well as relizing there are people gauking at me at how good I look.

For those of you who are overweight and reading this....

I chose to loose the weight because if I did not, I would loose the ability of walking. My knee was so bad that I was taking pain meds from friends. It was real bad.

The benefit of loosing the weight has been amazing yet I did not see the benefits until the first 30 pounds came off.

All "you" have to do is....make the choice to not eat flour, sugar or dring soda.

In the beginning, you will be in shock on how much flour, sugar and soda's you USED to take into you body per week. What do I eat? To start the day, a multipurpose vitamin and a joint suppliment. Today I had two cups of beef vegetable soup for breakfast, a couple of oz of dry salami for lunch and for dinner, a porterhouse steak, steamed rice, some pineapple, and for a snack tonight, a pomagranite. I drink coffee with Stivia and non-fat milk, and Crystal Light (I cut the portion by 50% with water otherwise it is too sweet for me). It I am still hungry, I eat some beef veg soup. I make 2 gallons of beef vegetable soup for a week and I have gotten really, really good at it. I love my soup. I eat Slit Pea Soup also.

Ooops....sorry....hope you did not feel I was preaching. I had been overweight most of my adult life and now....I is skinny. I hope if you are considering to seriously drop some poundage, make the choice. You will not be sorry. I promise. Yes, there will be changes in your life. People that you hang out with who are also heavy, will start to feel uncomfortable around you. Unfortunately, it is colateral damage but acceptable.

The foods that you love made with flour and sugar, you must say goodbye for now. It's ok. They will not slash your tires....that is a promise. However, they will tempt you, they will lie to you. Do not listen.....flour, sugar and soda.....are the unforgiving foods that make you fat.

OK.

January 10th...

I weighted myself today....I have lost....drum roll please.....

99 pounds.

That's it. I'm done. Was thinking of the 100 pound mark but....99 sounds better....reminds me of the hottie 99 from Get Smart...

Whatever....

So now I can start adding back in to my diet....pizza ...pasta... drool: ...and ....BREAD! Slowly of course. Plan to stay between 95 - 99 pounds lost...or...between 176 and 179.

It's been a long 9 months.

Thanks everyone for the kind words over these months.

Gee thanks Lois for the kind comment. And I know I should go get the knee looked at...but...yada yada yada (excuses).

A month ago on my last post, I said I wanted to stay between 176 and 179. I weighed in at 177 this morning...again. I have started to buy 'skinny' cloths.

A funny thing at work.

There are always those that think negative. A few nuckleheads had a pool going that I would start to gain weight back quickly. However the pool went bust yesterday.

I am a rock star

Thanks again Lois. Sometimes I forget I am thin and think people are looking at a fat man but really they are looking at a thin man. Sometimes I catch women eyeing me. Lois, I am 61. I would have never thunk.
