Cold-feet club, weekly challenge: MrSteveA67: I thought it would be fun for people who're shy or stuck in habits etc. that make it hard to date, make friends or find a good partner etc. and maybe we can help nudge each other into getting out a bit by having some weekly challenges of things to do? If you succeed in meeting the challenge this week, post something here or if you have suggestions for something to try for next week, put the ideas up: So I'll lead off with CHALLENGE #1: SIMPLE CHALLENGE: Talk to someone this week who you might normally be too shy to approach and talk for a bit and get their name and post it here. BONUS CHALLENGE: If you get a phone number or e-mail address etc., that's the bonus challenge!! (No, you don't have to post their personal info here LOL) Any takers? I'm willing to sign up for the simple challenge if anyone else wants to. (I don't think I can do the bonus challenge, but then again, stranger things have happened ... who knows)  HeadAboveWater: ok, i've thought really hard about this.. there is someone who is always walking his dog...it's a poodle. a really cute poodle. actually, i do wanna know the name of that poodle. maybe i'll take up your challenge and get to know the name of that poodle. the poodle's much cuter than the guy...ROFL!  HeadAboveWater: my guess is the guy's probably already married...coz, correct me if i'm wrong, but what guy would have a poodle for a dog?? that's more of a ladies' dog... HeadAboveWater: lol..it's about the dog, the whole dog, and nothing but the dog  alright, Sands, and whose name are you bringing to the table, hmmm? MrSteveA67: There's a coffee shop I stop by semi-regularly and just about a week ago there was a cute chihuahua someone brought and I had fun playing with the puppy (ok, the owner was much cuter! LOL I did talk with her for a little - just friendly) HeadAboveWater, if the owner of that dog is someone who might interest you, then yes, if you can get the name of the dog I figure that counts as a success Well, let's see if it's pets ... there's an older lady who has a  that lives across the street, but she's a got a daughter that visits sometimes ->  ... ah, but I know it's 'crash and burn' for me  if I tried asking the name of her cat (Yes, the challenge was to talk to someone you might normally be too shy to approach, but that'd be too tough for me - and that's almost exactly the reason why I've had troubles finding that beautiful relationship I can put everything into).How about something easier? There's a worker at that coffee shop that looks kind of like Kelly Clarkson and we've talked a little but I don't know her name (I've called her Kelly and joked about what she's working on for her next albumn ), and I could talk a bit more and get her name and post it here if someone else feels up to calling me on the challenge. You up for it, HeadAboveWater? You get the dogs name and I'll get the girls name? Actually, you don't have to pick anything specific and it could instead just be someone you see today or anytime this week. Just do something "outside the mold" (I admit talking more with that lady at the coffee shop isn't really breaking out much for me ... argghhh, but I know talking to is where my muscles lock up and instead of treading water, I sink! So that would be a true "success" if I could do it, but I don't want to go far outside my comfort zone ... just baby steps! LOL)Anyone feel like being a co-conspirator?   Who knows ... might turn out great for someone Sands: OK, am counting on both of you.. go for the challenge.. If i were you i'd ask the name of the owner of the cat and the dog and the grl too U can do it. MrSteveA67: Sounds like the ideal to me, Sands, and worse comes to worse, even doing half of it's a win. Well, I'm going to at least find out what 'Kelly's' real name is (and I'm sure I'll figure out a few other things to say too) and I'll post it here when I've got it. Feel free to talk with that guy and find out the name of his dog (and owner too?), HeadAboveWater. Of course, the bonus is for a phone number or figuring out way to talk with them again ... but no pressure. Could be fun just doing 'baby steps' (Wait until we're dancing in the spotlight at a party!!  )Have fun - we'll fix that loneliness (or ache in my case) one way or another.
