Climate research nearly unanimous on human causes (Page 5) the real slim DEEPy: proved is a verb, proven is an adjective. i proved ([proved is the verb), i have proven (have is the verb, and proven , the adverb. both you proved, and you have proven are correct (Edited by the real slim DEEPy) Corwin: No, you said "you've proved", or "you have proved". It's either "you proved", or "you've proven"... but I suppose I only notice these obvious grammar faux pas because of my ignorance. I'm Canadian... we don't speak American here either... and if you want to use bad grammar that's fine by me. I'm sure it will add so much more credibility to that book you're writing about UFOs and government conspiracies. (Edited by Corwin) Bumpa: Aaahhh, that'd be why I hadn't heard of them Deep, probably heard my kids playing them far too loud though The Stones Stepenwolf and Beatles, THAT'S music! the real slim DEEPy: i was about to post this on elsewhere, a nod to the beetles tribute superconcert tonight, in the mall in the rich side of town, that "forgot" to ever getting around to adding the roof... they are unable to get enough "paying" shoppers. with stores such as nordstroms, the apple store, sharper image, the bose store, panama jack, ect..., they only appeal to the older baby boomers with more money than practical product knowledge... the rich kids just play with the ipads and such, and distract the sales team from those with intent to purchase, and the stores are too expensive to attract schoppers from the lower or low-to mid-middle class. the real slim DEEPy: uum, bumpa, did you listen CLOSELY to the lyrics? it is about affirmative action, union standardization of wages, and the redistribution of wealth...
Corwin: Great Rush song, and a great Canadian band. But the song has nothing to do with actual trees... the trees are metaphors for the different political classes, and the strife which exists between them. Bumpa: I'm tone deaf, can't sing, can't dance, can't play music. It's a good thing I can make a living out of my science otherwise I'd starve Bumpa: Einstein was wicked! He's my personal hero. If he'd failed at it, he could have made a living as a stand up comedian. | Science Chat Room Similar Conversations |
