Ghosts Do you believe (Page 5)

LiptonCambell
LiptonCambell: >>>I didnt know the non believers would be putting people down who have experienced the unexplained

You are so talking out your ass! If you "experienced the unexplained", then you'd have no idea what you experienced.

We're not seeing this. We're seeing people *attempting* to explain the unexplained by claiming they "feel" it happened this way or that.

And frankly, if my interpretation of the unexplained is being challenged, I don't see any harm in challenging other peoples interpretations. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones- and the people who have posted on here are not expressing their utter confusion at what they've experienced- they're announcing they've solved the mystery, and that the answer is ghosts.

So don't lie and distort the situation- because you cannot claim something is unknown and known at the same time.

>>>So for the people who seem to think what I heard was in my head, well I guess the dogs and my daughter share the same brain ; )

And that IS mysterious, I agree. Its your answer I disagree with, not your question. I do not think a ghost was speaking your name, and believe there are many more rational explanations than the one you have offered.

LiptonCambell: Lol we can go back and forth on this, but at the end of the day, even if I experienced someone yelling my name in an empty house, I wouldn't accept that as evidence that we live forever, and our consciousness can survive without a body....theres a link there that is clearly missing...and quite a few mundane things it could be

Justme4367: this wasnt a one time event , it was just one of the UNEXPLAINED occurances , Ive had many strange goings on in my home , and just because someone believes in something you dont doesnt mean it isn't real ,

LiptonCambell: I agree there- so long as it is an unexplained event

Like I said- I don't have a problem with the issue of the unexplained- but if you stand up and "I KNOW THE ANSWER"....well, I'm sorry, but theres gunna be some people who will criticize your thoughts.

LiptonCambell: We can play the semantics game all night if you had the time, but at the end of the day, regardless if you call it "knowing" or "believing", when it comes down to the issue of that spooky noise you heard one night, you have an explanation- an answer. And when you start talking about what happens after we die, you're going to get some criticisms. Especially when your reasoning is because you "feel" it....humanity has a history of always getting everything dead wrong- that the universe is in fact far more complex than we could comprehend, and almost always is completely contrary to our hopes or feelings.

The only way we got beyond all of that is through rigorous testing of our surroundings and skepticism.

goodnewseverybody: Wow, very vivid dream "ainoko57"! I have had similar "vivid" dreams growing-up as a child when I didn't know about an afterlife. The dreams were a lot more scary back then; however, I do get some "scary" dreams, but able to handle it better now with prayer and knowing (with peace) of an after and "fulfilling" life with my Heavenly Father (through Jesus Christ) Feel free to ask me about it -peace and love all

risen_sun86: I believe it to be highly likely. Revenants seem to have been witnessed and shared as far back as we can recall. And unlike other ideas (such as alien abductions), ghost have been experienced by many notable people. People we consider sane and prudent.

Justme4367: lol, you think it would ainoko57, some people just dont have an open mind and won't be convinced unless they experience it themselves. I just thought it would be fun to join in here and share experiences with people, didnt realize this forum would turn into a big debate lol.

LiptonCambell: Like I said earlier 4367, when you start making claims of what happens to you after you die, yea, you're gunna find some opposition- especially when the evidence is entirely based around your feelings

There are millions of website out there made specifically for support and discussion of your beliefs if you so wish it- this is not such a website. And frankly, since this is in the science sub-section, that literally re-enforces the idea that the evidence supporting ghosts will be a strong issue in this thread. Don't want to talk about the science of "ghosts"? Then take it somewhere else....

LiptonCambell: I don't think that discussing the scientific evidence behind ghosts on the scientific section is off topic- I do, however, I think that discussing the emotional or andedoctial evidence behind ghosts, while completely ignoring all scientific conclusions, is silly.

Do you have any scientific evidence to present? Or just photos and youtube videos and your own claims that you have convinced yourself that they exist, and that should be taken as evidence ?

I just don't see how, in a discussion about science how anyone could object to someone pushing the question "Is your reasoning scientific?"

Failing to answer that question- or even denying that question even exists- says alot about your stances.
