Stephen Hawking: God was not needed to create the Universe (Page 3) StuckInTheSixties: That comment was made by "drill," perhaps the biggest moron to have ever posted in the pages of Wireclub Forums. He is, thankfully, long gone. ɾøllώïƒḋατɾøll: ummm i dont think anyone was need to create the Universe but hey, let SH have his moment after all he does have the high IQ dellprinter: I enjoy Hawkins and his theories. I suspect in his early days he may not have believed in God but was afraid to mention it for fear of a backlash that would destroy his career. The creation of the universe will always boggle the mind and for now it’s a chicken and egg question. A big bang & the laws of physics but where do these laws come from, where did the matter for the big bang come from and so on. Python aka Casanova: Why do the greatest minds always try and prove the existence of God? There must hundreds of complex mathematical theories out there disproving or proving God. semperfortis89: Well one, ppl want the hope that theres some supreme being out there who loves u with all his/her/its heart and there is a better place than the hell hole that is the world. On the other hand maybe man is not ment to know its origins of its existance let alone the universes existance. I content with my existance in the universe, do i wonder? Yes but i take comfort in the fact that in the end, the TRUE end when the last breath in creation stops and all teh stars go out, and the universe in all its power sinks back in to the darkness it came from. Every heartbeat and everything that lived in it, that swam, flew, crawled, slithered will have live and from that nothing came something, something that mattered. An existance of a God honestly shouldnt matter u live right now and thats all that should. jaysonreed: not sure but wireclub thinks I should be in the room so ( god or ibis has the answer) we look for a god in the sky be it the big bang or the dark atoms spankdmonkey: God is our universe ,the universe is a living entity from which everything came forever ,there is no time that this happened. It is infinate time is a human invention made by humans, to work and understand and explain things better .. the universe was and will alwyas be there working its magic by creating energy and mass , .Einstiens theory that you cannot destroy matter , Only turn it from one substance to another is totally correct ,.The universe is all matter it will never be destroyed only changed by stars dying and falling through space at great speeds only to one day re ignite themselves from changing from one substance to another .It will be a Star again one day be it in millions of years or billions it will be back, we all will because we cannot be destroyed only changed .. When all the planets in our own solar system collapse and become space dust that dust spins through our universe regathering and picking up all other minute particles like magnets, friction ,static, ,it all comes together again to form new planets it has to ,.there is no other explanation . God did not create the universe the universe created the universe 11Xbadalice: If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it, does the Universe exist? BarneyEire: Is there a God if there is no religion?? if mankind never grew to choose to believe in a God where would we be now? I seen in a newspaper here that the Catholic Church(don't quote me on this,I'm very vagely sure) had X amount of billions of Euros, now why would a religion need that? why did the Catholic church use the fear of a God to gather followers all those years ago, religion to me is a dying thing, and to the next generation it will be worse, with more and more shocking stories of priests abusing children, would a God allow this to happen? would a God allow his followers to drift from him?? I think we get confused with two types of God,one a God of miracles, and the other a God of creation,to which is more commonly known to scientists/physicists as a creator, We are at a fascinating stage of science and physics now,the next 100yrs will be amazing in the break throughs and discoveries, hopefully a "Theory of Everything" will come about, ideas of multiple universes and infinate universes are very real, and even higher dimensional space and time travel albeit travelling back but appearing in a parallel universe,I think its a stage where science fiction meets reality, 11Xbadalice: I'm a man of Science, yet this small creature that sits on my lap, my little MAX puppy, I know without a doubt that he has a spirit. What can you say about that? Where did his cute little spirit come from? How can evolution know how to be so darn cute? So perplexing. spankdmonkey: Hi !!Xbadalice ,the spirit is no more then a chemical reaction if you get a catalyst happening it gets excited,, boiled water it bubbles away, they are reactions the same as our human life exists while we are alive we are reacting .As we get older and die we slow down like any chemical reaction till we become dormant ..That dont mean we die forever because we go through a chain of events changing from one chemical to another some made up of solids some of gases and some of liquids ,.. 11Xbadalice: Hi Spankdmonkey. I'd like you feedback on my comments in "The Big Bang Theory" thread, check it out if you have time. spankdmonkey: okay 11X i will write one up when i see it ,I have a couple of theories and scenario"s on the subject ..I do lean towards the big bang theory though only becaus the evidence points in that direction ` (Edited by spankdmonkey) B0B: my thoughts are this, no one knows what really happened in the very beginning because no one was actually there. as such, whatever you believe happened based off what you know or have faith is in is your truth. live it without apology. BarneyEire: just thinking there,if there is a God,where does he/she/it reside, and where ever he/she/it resides who created that??? just sayin, when you think about the uncountable number of galaxies out there, and the billions upon billions of stars in them, the figures are astronomical(pun intended) its is only expected that life, intelegent life will arise, you could be talking billions of billions of billions of stars,if even a minute percentage of these had planets,or solar systems,it would still be a monumental number of planets that could perhaps host life or inteligent life, plus with the universe almost 14 bn yrs old, enough time has come and gone for perhaps inteligent life to have flourished, and have fallen at the first hurdle,in a nuclear war,if an inteligent life form existed a hundred million years before us in a distant part of the universe,we have only had the ability to recieve radio signals the last 100yrs or so,so perhaps we missed them by 99,999,900yrs I believe there is a whole lot more to whats around us than what we can touch, feel and see, other dimensions, strange matter other forces and I also believe we will have to invent a newer type of math to help progress in the quest for this, I also love wondering what it will be like if mankind is around in 100,000yrs or so,if we haven't wiped ourselves out,if we still inhabit the Earth,if UK tv sports shows will eventually stop showing clips for the 1966 world cup,who knows... (Post deleted by Wireclub Robot Butler ) WhiteCloud2: hawking is silly ..thinking who and how we were created is like ur PC trying to think who and how it was made..we dont have the thinking tools yet..one day we will..he is just another PC who thinks he is smart Python aka Casanova: Whether or not Hawking's theory is correct, and there have been many theories by geniuses that haven't withstood testing and criticism, it doesn't mean religion serves any function in society and that most of the fairy tales their followers follow is complete B.S. We are going to die and there is no afterlife so enjoy your life now. No deity in the universe gives a flying f** what you do, but your neighbor/family/community does. Religion may have been appropriate for the 14th century, when that was the most complete knowledge they had about anything, but despite that it was a miserable time to live in, it doesn't mean that they were correct. Let's browse over some things about religion: witch trials, Crusades, heretics burned alive at the stake, bishops accepting payments to get into Heaven, torturing homosexuals, misogyny, power and greed corruption from the Vatican, child molesting, etc. It's just a big group of jackasses who think that their preacher, religion, or God actually means something and then a lot of them immediately turn it into a weapon. comni21: i love how men who seek the real truth and dont just accept the norms in society and there are scientists that stand up for the pursuit of knowledge. Religion tried to say the earth was in the center if the universe but that was not the case and so is the great mystery of that guy of the clouds without evidence and its yet to present its self | Science Chat Room 1 Person Chatting Similar Conversations |
