Why is racism still in existence (Page 2) Aryaa: No duncan. Eggman posted that racism started due to people relating themselves with own tribes and when they felt threatened due to some reasons or others. (Please correct me if I got it wrong) So, I posted that it is the same issue...but instead of racism, it is islam-fundamentalism. Got it? Aryaa: huh? how you mean? IamEggman: Aarya, The point i was making is that the hard wiring in our brains is still there. We know that there is no logical reason for racism these days but the instincts are still there and racism is a symptom of that. Some people have trouble thinking past those instincts. These clubs and community centers are proud of their races and are established exclusively for their respective people. But if I started The White Association of Pick-a-city, I would definitely be called a racist, nazi etc. Imagine, 'celebrating white history week' or something like that. I would be demonized. I really believe that racism will continue to exist as long as people identify themselves completely with their races. They invest their whole egos into their race. Until the actual social problems...low self esteem, poverty, starvation, etc...are addressed...racism will exist...as the..?unevolved?...need to feel superior to something...anything....hence...racism.... After all...racism could be said to be just a group of like minded individuals..... that need to feel superior over another race... Hilter...his insanity...etc...a targeted response toward people he, and that following...felt had more than their share.... Same now in the US...Many whites feel the need to be superior to blacks, Mexicans, etc...simple fear...brought about by the same social problem....and same with the blacks and mexicans toward the whites.. Much the same as a group of people that love to fish...they talk fish all day and night...same as hunters, car people, mechanics, techs, doctors, spies, politicians(ugh, barf ), etc....they all "talk shop".. Hence...that in it self would indicate...low self esteem...etc...basic social problem.... Until that problem is actually addressed...the racism problem will continue... Sad as that is to say... Just the same as the poor hate the rich, the rich despise the poor... Home and land owners, vs renters and homeless.....etc.... However...an actual government sponsored approach will not work to solve the problem either...that was tried already...USSR...the lack of envy approach... I believe...that education...personal education......and exposure to life outside of the short sighted box are the only solutions to the problem.... What I can not find a to get that to work is..... how do you motivate a population to learn the benifits of not having racism.... To make a population to WANT to over come it....that is where my math hangs up... Suggestions? Only thought I have been able to come up with...completely impossible to put into action, but a thought... Would to break the geographical line...where as the vast majority of people, are born, go to school, live, work, and die...all within 50 miles of their birth place...hence...brought up and raised with the self esteem problems, racism, etc... Maybe a forced generational migration to new areas????????????Maybe????????? Just a few thoughts to add... Beyond that...very interesting to see so many really good thinking people in one box...
