Why is racism still in existence xanderiley: Because people have been taught prejudice by their folks, who got it from theirs, etc. Because people have a phobia that once their group loses political power, there shall be payback in the form of seizure and redistribution of property and wealth to the new majority and other nonsense. Because people who are fearful on both sides against the unknown other are easier to control and manipulate by those with the resources to do so.  Peaceforpeople: I truly believe it still exists cause people are fearful and ignorant. I believe that racism is a symptom of ignorance and fear. Without being racist, or picking on a particular Nation, lets look at Americans. Unfortunately, a large section of that Nation think that they are the greatest nation on earth, without ever having been out of the country. Having pride in your nation is one thing, and it's great, but to think that you are better than others, more superior or matter more is a mistake and sadly opens the minds door to intolerance, hatred and a host of other negatives. Racism is disgusting. The thing is, when you look a the example of South Africa, during apartheid, the ruling whites believed that what they were doing was righteous, justified and the will of god. This racism and ignorance, ultimately brought the government down. Justice and liberty are not things that only some people deserve. They are the right of all people and those that try to deny justice to others are on a path that can only lead to one thing. Failure. It may take a long time, and people may need to struggle for a long time to achieve it but in the end, good triumphs over evil. Racism is the ultimate "Litmus Test" that shows in an instant, just how evolved a person is spititually and mentally. We can all be angry with certain countries policies but we need to be very careful about putting that anger onto an entire people, no matter how tempting or angry regimes injustices make us get. On a personal level, I would much rather live with peace and love in my heart than hatred and anger.  missapplefritter: Some people feel the superiority over others. As youngsters we didn't know black races and cultures. Now primary school children 'hate'. Now they see first-hand that young black children are killed for their body parts, young children as young as 8 months are raped to cure AIDS. The 15 year black government has done very little to 'uplift' their own people. Nepotism is rife. White businesses are closing because businessmen are leaving the country. Unemployment is rising. Murders are now called tribal Justice. It is unlawful to call a black person a 'baboon' or a 'monkey', yet, our Chief of Police, Cele, can call an Indian tourist a MONKEY. The double standards are ludicrous. What is good for the black goose is definitely not good for the white gander in Africa. When a white person is killed by a black person - it is crime. When a black person is killed by a white person - it is racism. And Yes - I have black friends, real friends who cannot wait to get out of the African cesspool.
