Mars (Page 9)

ghostgeek
ghostgeek: Duncan, I think you've just killed the tourist industry for Mars before it's even got going. Who's going to go there if there's a prospect of a comet landing on their head?

I expect people leaving Earth to avoid the comets hitting there would still be interested!!

Heres a link to more info;-

You might notice that the comet appears to be more like crossing the path of Mars rather then in ;-

where it appears to be almost in a head on approach, and Astronotes has;-

where it seems to turn on the inside of Mars instead of going around Mars to turn.

Water on Mars?

Scientists in 1976 concluded that there had been.

Mineralogic and Petrologic Implications of
Viking Geochemical Results From Mars: Interim Report

“Our mineralogic model has, therefore, two major requirements for petrogenesis on Mars.

(I) There must be exposed on the surface of Mars abundant mafic parent materials for clay formation and, conversely, there cannot be large, exposed source areas providing alkali-rich granitic materials.

(II)There must be (or must have been) sufficient water or ice on Mars to interact with mafic rock material to form ferroan clays.

Siding Spring heads closer to Mars.

"MARS COMET PASSES STAR CLUSTER: Comet Siding Spring (C/2013 A1) is hurtling toward Mars for a near miss on Oct. 19, 2014. En route, a different near miss occured. On Aug. 28, the "Mars Comet" pass almost directly in front of globular star cluster NGC 362:" spaceweather.com

It might be interesting to see how NASAs Mars Message Creep continues as it creates demand for Mars info and images.

A pretty cool Comet Siding Spring tracker. Shows two hours journey and might get exciting when it gets near Mars.

Did Comet Siding Spring dislodge something on its way to Mars

And is that why Comet Siding Spring and Comet Ison appear to have already broken up but had not dispersed?

Mars is often hit by space objects it seems and in the past it NASA has ignored and forgotten Mars hitting asteroids and comets.

Metaverseguy: Can't remember what Corvin said, but it was probably pretty funny and inappropriate. Did you all see Mars featured in the new Bungie Destiny game? It's been in development for like a decade.

NASA makes amazing claims in this movie. As a sign of the end 'of times' it repeats itself at the end to emphasise the atmosphere wider then Jupiter, which it did n't mention when the comets were near Earth.

Sadly it has pictures of the people who built one project long after their involvement has stopped. Perhaps this too has a end of times meaning.

If you keep pushing around you might find ' the slate ' which seems to be another NASA page.

Much the same NASA video can be seen here;-

I wonder why they were so touchy? NASA claims that Mars once had plenty of water but now is drier then the driest place on Earth. Except of course we know Mars has seasonal polar ice caps which means that there is precipitation and melt waters.

Metaverseguy: Just forget it. Mars isn't hospitable. Find another planet to go to that's already suitable for life or forget the idea. You know there's probably a slim chance you will go to either Mars or some Earth-like planet by the end of your life don't kid yourself.
