Nathaniel Nirvana: yeah, thats interesting, a sort of corresponding weather phenonomum,
great upheavals & events often coincide with great weather, as an off topic example I'm thinking the storm & eclipse when Jesus was on the cross, and many texts often report storms & the like during battles etc

LiptonCambell
LiptonCambell: >>>the God of Mars cant be dead, just sleeping, as the lifeforms of Mars might be...

Don't you mean it COULD be dead? I mean, we don't know that life has been on Mars, let alone know if they're "sleeping"- even your own statement aludes to that- that lifeforms on mars 'might be' sleeping....

>>>and the planet isnt dead, just frozen, so the god isnt dead

It doesn't matter if its frozen or not- we have examples of life in frozen reigns of our world; Mars does not. And if you're suggesting the "God of Mars" is the same as the concept as "Mother Nature", then Mars would absolutely require life. No life, no Mother Nature...

>>>ancient ppls seemed to know a lot more about astomony than they ought to have

I think they knew exactly the right ammount. They had no televisions or newspapers or often any written languages- they instead spent their lives watching the stars....theres are numerous examples throughout the world of civilizations independant of each other decivering the cosmos.

Frankly, that makes the idea of "ancient aliens" even less likely- because there were millions of eyes watching the stars for any anomolies....and yet, all we can find is vague comments hundreds of years apart...

>>>heard some theory someplace that the stars & planets used to be closer until an event happened and the heavens were closed to Man

Yea, that sounds scientific...

>>>but might explain how ppl knew so much about planets & stars before advanced telescopes.

No, understanding the movement of stars and planets THAT YOU CAN SEE WITH YOUR NAKED EYE is not exceptional, and needs Gods and Angels to explain their existence. Now, if the ancient Greeks knew about Pluto, or that strange Octogon on Saturn, or how many moons Neptune had, then yea, that'd be worth considering.

But the knowledge ancient civilizations held was not that amazing. All you needed was alot of patience, and the ability to look up

>>>or is its appearance red cuz its the god of Mars associated with war etc

Wha? No, Mars is red because, essentially, the world is covered in a kind of rust-dust....

-----

>>>There doe,s nt seem to be any reason why, except it is red.

I'm pretty sure that's all there is to it, but why not research it? It was the Romans who held that belief....

>>>I wonder what the Chinese called Mars?

You don't like google, do you? It took me ten seconds;

火星 (huo xing) literally meaning "fire planet"

>>>and the sun became low the sky was red.

LMAO really? That's such a mundane miracle....I mean, the sun was red because, sometimes, the sun goes red. It has nothing to do with whats going on in your neighborhood, city, country, or even the world......

duncan124:
"When to see Mars in 2014
The brightness of Mars in our sky depends on where our two planets are in orbit around the sun. Sometimes Earth is close to Mars, and sometimes we are far away.
We are relatively close – and Mars appears at its brightest in our sky for that two-year period – every time Earth passes between the sun and Mars. At this time, Mars appears at opposition – opposite the sun in our sky – rising in the east when the sun sets in the west. Oppositions of Mars recur about every two years and 50 days.

In 2014, Earth will pass between the sun and Mars on April 8. At that time, Mars will be relatively close to us then, and it will appear as a bright reddish “star” in our night sky, rising in the east while the sun is setting in the west. Mars is excellent to view through April 2014. It’s pretty good in March, May and June, too! And it’ll be a charming companion to the beautiful skies of July and August, 2014. By September 2014, Mars will be getting very faint again – inconspicuous. It’ll be exceedingly faint and low in the southwest when 2014 ends." from Earthsky

Comet C/2013 A1 Siding Spring heading for Mars

"When the dandelions raise their heads to the sun this spring, NASA will be paying close attention a little comet that could raise a mess at Mars. Comet C/2013 A1 Siding Spring will pass just 86,000 miles (138,000 km) from the planet on October 19 this year, raising the possibility that dust sputtering from its nucleus could pepper the three orbiting spacecraft there and two additional probes expected to arrive about three weeks before the comet’s closest approach. That’s a close shave!

NASA’s taking precautions starting with an intensive observing campaign already underway using the Hubble Space Telescope and the NEOWISE probe. Scientists hope....

So AstroBob is really against the current Mars missions and points out that ideas given to the wind like flower seeds might actually be worth something to NASA.

Ideas such as those found here;-

Topic: Science

They could pay me now or wait till they have to stop making up stories due to lack of common sense and say the comet destroyed their Mars mission, and so make any ideas more valuable.

"Mars “mystery rock” prompts alien life lawsuit " Astrobob claims

“Petitioner then magnified images of the same Martian outcrop, taken 12 Martian days
earlier (Sol 3528) and detected the presence of an identical structure, in miniature, in the same exact location, and in the same exact spot where the larger structure was photographed on Sol 3540. The structure, in miniature as depicted in Sol 3528, is obvious and resembles a fruiting body of a fungus which has just begun to germinate from spores.”
Joseph filed the lawsuit on Jan. 27 in California against NASA and its administrator James Bolden requesting that the agency  ”perform a public, scientific, and statutory duty which is to closely photograph and thoroughly scientifically examine and investigate a putative biological organism.”"

Metaverseguy: Anyways, there's a lot of support for a 2030 Mars mission. Hopefully, nothing will set it off course. Perhaps instead of competing with each other Russia and USA can work together to get a group safely there and back with the help of the space station. Neil Armstrong even talked about a Mars mission in his memoirs. I've already seen holograms, robotic surgery, cyborgs, organ transplants that were impossible two decades ago and A.I. beating humans at nearly every task. If I could see someone walk on Mars, or play golf, and see the exact same images we are seeing from the rover that would be mildly entertaining for 10 minutes.

It looks as if the Mars One "optimists" won't be colonizing the planet except in their dreams, unless there are rocket scientists among them who've lost all sense of reason and prudence and decided it's better to die on another planet than live on this planet.

Mars seems to have been very stable over a longish time. However there seems to have been several comet impacts recently.

NASAs misinformation about Mars makes it a good candidate for faked landings. Why NASA got in to such problems with the water is any ones guess. But the more the Science media fakes ideas about Mars the more problems NASA is facing.

Like those Hebrew guys aqt Tela Viv Uni predicted planets using mathematics(theory of realitivity), mind is somewhat our greatest instrument for space travel. Predicting organisms on Mars before Rovers sequel can dig deeper would be real mind progression.
