What do you think of circumcision?

Metaverseguy
Metaverseguy: Circumcision is still practiced today (the great 21st century that was supposed to solve all problems and be a sci-fi utopia) on both men and women. Several forms of circumcision exist, but it mostly includes slicing off some skin around the genitals (foreskin, clitoris, labia). I think it's absolutely barbaric and should be illegal everywhere, but some people think that it makes the area cleaner.

I mean it's done in childhood before a child is fully conscience and able to make decisions. If it's so important why don't any adults get circumcised?

Anyways, I didn't post this article to complain about rabbis slicing off areas they shouldn't be, even though it definitely makes me less empathetic about the Holocaust, but a bunch of people went ahead and have actually been researching how to regenerate foreskin through science, possibly like the same way that kidney and other vital organs are being researched to regrow through stem cells.

I would think that the most ideal method would be to just remove skin in some unseen area like upper thigh and just attach it through surgery and anesthetics, but this way might be pain free. A lot of work for a piece of skin, but clearly a lot of men are disturbed by this. Some think it reduces sexual pleasure.

Metaverseguy: Yea. How people can call these societies civilized that allow this doesn't make sense. Religion has so much freedom to do horrible things in the name of God is it unbearable. Yet, their claims are all false and they are still allowed to commit atrocities. The faster these ritual, traditions, and dogma are banned from society the better off everyone will be.

lillith black: In Australia, you won't find many doctors who will perform this procedure. In my opinion it is barbaric and totally unnecessary.
