Middle Paleolithic Religions.

GeraldtheGnome: There is no information to tell me that even one of those of any Mousterian, Aeterian and any other forms Technology (if there are any, possibly, but I don't know) and that even one of any Homo sapiens idaltu Humans, Homo floresiensis Humans, Denisovans, Neanderthals, Homo sapien sapien Humans and all transitional Humans of any Species and Subpecies of Humans used any form of Religion before 70,000 years ago. They possibly may have as some assume, but most assume that they were all Atheists because that is most likely what was the case back then.

DawnGurl: Neanderthals dug graves, adorned their dead, buried the deceased with their most important belongings and apparently mourned their deceased friend. While this is not a religion per se, its an advance in that general direction although there is no concrete evidence of a belief in an afterlife. It can be argued that the adorning of the dead body and burial with their belongings suggests (possibly) an afterlife.

GeraldtheGnome: Absolutely, that is my point, the thing is though as soon as an Archaeologist or Anthropologist after the Palaeontologist has done his or her stuff, one of them with a Religious based leaning sees that or some Statue or what not as a Religious practice rather than just that of some cultural belief. It is better for some to assume than to be certain and that way of thinking has, does and will always baffle me. Even some accounts or suspected accounts of Cannibalism have been seen by some as being absolute evidence of a Prehistoric Religious practice when it had nothing to do with that at all. I guess I will change my mind about editing my first message on here now.

GeraldtheGnome: Maybe the way the earliest Burials were just showcased a mark of respect for the dead, so yes maybe it was only just simply a mark of respect and nothing more. Like, we don't want to see Ug's Body decay or get eaten by the Wild Animals or at first maybe they saw it more as a hygiene solution to avoid any possible diseases and what not being carried from the Body or the smell in the Air was too much for the others to deal with.

GeraldtheGnome: Sorry, I had to change the name of it, I accidentally put Middle Pleistocene Religions when I already did one about that a while ago. I didn't want to have two with the same name. That would just be confusing for everyone, as it just was if anyone noticed.
