Geoff: Act of God is a legal term (an obsolete one in my opinion), therefore it like still referring to Christmas as Christmas. It's for ease of comprehension, social norm, and legal protection.

chronology: Jack you fine fellow, we have all seen the Billy Connelly Movie. Like Geoff says 'Act of God' is a Legal Term it has no Theological basis at all. In the Book of Job, Job was thought to have punished by God, it was in fact Satan destroying his family and business. Even Jesus explicitly said one woman had been 'bound by Satan' she was suffering from a physical condition. No disrespect to Satan, but I think he is behind far more natural catastrophes than God.

Geoff: Satan still doesn't kill as many people in the bible as God does.

And if the bible is God's propaganda, he could take lessons from Goebles/

Geoff: I think atheists should buy insurance for acts of Geoff.

//Edit - Can't call that a typo. More a mental autocorrect.

chronology: Geoff many people have tried to calculate how many people died in the Great Flood. Whether you accept the Biblical description or atheist description, it was a heck of an event.

Around 1.000.000.000. or maybe 3.000.000.000. people died violent deaths in a matter of days.

Geoff: Sorry, by "Atheist description" I presume you are actually referring to the scientific description based on the evidence.

Which would certainly not have killed anywhere near a billion people.
