Theism is illogical

TheismIsUntenable
TheismIsUntenable: Simple.

Anything that cannot be justified rationally is not logical. Theism is something which cannot be justified rationally. Therefore...theism is illogical.

Definitions of importance:

Theism: The claim that a god or gods exist.
Logical: Adheres to the axioms of logic.

Anyone who disagrees feel free to put forth arguments which establish the tenability of the theistic claim.

Anyone who agrees can get lost. Just kidding, but really we've nothing to say to each other.

Geoff: Based on the lack of evidence, it is illogical to make an assumption on the existence of a hypothetical.

Geoff: Well, the difference between atheist and agnostic is hazy and largely down to how the individual chooses to label themselves.

"-Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself." - Ferris Bueller.

But then; my view of God is much the same as my view of Spiderman. There's book about him, even movies - but no objective evidence of Spiderman's existence. Should I call myself a Spiderman Agnostic because I can't prove that he is fictional?

TheismIsUntenable: Agnosticism in the sense that one cannot come to knowledge about the supernatural seems prima facie logical due to an inability to interact with such a dimension if one such dimension exists at all.

Atheism in the positive affirmation that no god or gods exist seems illogical. It would be an argumentum ad ignorantiam fallacy to adhere to this.

Negative atheism seems the only intellectually honest position due to lack of affirmation and employment of skepticism.

orkanen: There's a reason why the Supernatural was invented in the first place. We are not entirely rational beings to begin with, it is something we need to learn..
