monster hunter: @shoreline u know what u speak of religion being messed with is true.I studied all religion and you know what I saw? people talking about the same thing yet different titles. and all religion points to the one god every religion Buddhism Hinduism other animalism religions wiccan and even voodoo all points to what Jesus preached and the torah and Koran come from the same god different teachings Jesus preached the word the torah is more a history lesion teach faith and the Koran teaches how to follow the word. yet in religion wiccan Christianity Judaism alike where taught one way and are ignorance stops us from learning the truth the reason the 3 words are separate religions is so they can fight amongst themselves over who is gods chosen people. And the others animalism religions teach spiritual enlightenment wiccan angel magic all things man need but this separating is caused by the cults the Shriners illuminati freemasons skulls and bones and the brotherhood.to keep us under control stopping us from spiritually growing and seeing the truth. all I say is there in history and In religions teachings not meaning religions says this but one who studies all religion sees this.as in how it's messed with and when they learn about the cults it'll make sense. yet all belfies are gulty of pride or ingnorance or both

near50ohoh: monster hunter the word for what you are saying is occult, not cult. i'm with shoreline on that. i've read from both the dead sea and naj hammadi scrolls. and from several other religious texts. i found some fascinating things that changed my concept of christianity's foundation. and i 'm not sure if you are even attempting to discuss the thread . isn't the point to discuss whether religion has any merit? maybe even which religion has more or most? that's what i understand.
let me put my spoke in the fire.
no one can prove there is a god(s). all religious texts were written by human beings and repeatedly edited. all have been coloured by the visions of mystics who had something like drugs to accelerate their experience. yet they have hung around for thousands of years past their time of superstitions and appeasement. if as nothing else but time stories, fables or zeitgeists. they have been perpetuated by armies and snake oil salesmen beyond their immediate time and place. and even the technology of the time causes issues (ie food preparation and storage in religious law about diet)
if for that they should be burned, every last copy.
however they unify the faithful and give people goals to work toward that for some take more than one lifetime to reach.
given every thing i've said you would be right to wonder if i'm an atheist but i'm not. because faith has never been about proof. and until the day we can create and run a universe full of beings without blowing it all up, i say there is a god(s). there that's the basic premise under all faiths. i wonder if that's what the thread originator wanted?

To seek validity, reason and/or logic to any religion, and have a reasonable discussion about it. However, as you might have probably reviewed, it did not turn out as such lol....

But excellent bit of light, in what you put forth, has been brought to the table and redirected the thread towards its original intention! I couldnt agree more with what you stated.
