God must hate me!!

croberts1414: Ok christians I'm very confused. Explain to me why when you claim that god "speaks" to you, the popular claim seems to be that it is very much something apart from just your conscience or some kind of inner monologue. People often say it is very clear who is talking to them. So far correct? So I must conclude either god wants me to go to hell or there is no god right. It seems that if I would be thrown in a lake of fire till the end of eternity he would at very least make sure i hear him clearly. I asked my Mom and she explained that I had to "give myself over to him first" but thats dumb. Does not seem productive to always be chatting up the guy who never misses church but cant even once make it known to me he exists. I he came down and spoke to me just 1 time that would be enough to be all in but he wont till i already believe. Smells a bit fishy.

Zanjan: My question, croberts, would be why you're directing your question to Christians. Has someone told you they own God or that God only speaks to Christians? Don't believe that for a second.

God doesn't hate anyone, however, His patience does have a line one shouldn't cross.

The only persons God can speak to directly are His Prophets. He created them in a special way to be the mediators of God's Word to mankind; they have no ego, we do and that's what sets up the veils between us.

You speak to God through your prayers; God speaks to you through the Words of His Revelations (scriptures). God can guide you both through meditation on His Word, through a well-rounded education, through nature, and through the actions of others.

The inner voice is the voice of one's own conscience. Some people have experienced "visitations" by angels - these come to them at God's behest because God can't directly come to you. That would be what comes from outside yourself; if this happens to you, it would only be for a very good reason and God will send you confirmations of that.

If you don't believe in God, why should He bother with you? What makes you so special amongst any other servant? If you say 'jump', do you expect Him to say "how high?"

What your mother meant is that if you don't develop a working relationship with God, you can't expect any results. Same as interacting with other people - you don't get anything out of it unless you put something into it.

deuce916: Don't listen to Zanjan unless you want to end up like her - illogical, fantasy driven, deluded, hallucinatory, etc. Listen to the pig before he gets eaten, he wants to help you through this mess, not drive you to insanity. Oh, & a word of advice, there is no end to eternity, it just keeps going on endlessly.
