Why Bother Trying to 'Convert' When It Is Personal? (Page 3)

wolfsongstormspirit: You BELIEVE there is only one god mate. Doesn't make it fact. It is YOUR belief and it doesn't, or shouldn't I feel, affect the way you feel towards another or their belief. I am pagan but was Christian and looked into all the others from Islam to Judaism to Buddhism to Hinduism and I respect them all in their essence and the real teachings of love, respect, empathy and compassion towards ALL no matter what their belief is.

wolfsongstormspirit: I do respect your faith though in the Qu'ran and your response shows that you are not the radical nutcases that give Islam a bad name. I am actually interested in the proof you have. Not because of any reason to debate or that I require proof but I am happy to hear about it.

assegayer1: thank you very much. well my first proof is that the quran was revealed thousand years ago right? well theres verse in the quran talking about how everyone has a different finger print which was only discovered about 100 years ago using scienfic technology. how did muhammed know this?

secondly i bedlive liek every scientist that evrything has a cause and an effect. what caused the universe to be created?

wolfsongstormspirit: Ah. I like to point out also that the Bible talks about the earth being round and suspended in nothingness at a time when it was not known and it also mentions the water cycle as well. That was before Muhammed. So they both actually use science in a way at a time when such things were not known.

And I do agree with the cause and effect as I love to take close up shots of plants, insects and spiders and there is no way that it was just by chance with the diversity. It's ironic that Christianity, Islam and Judaism all believe in the early prophets, and yet only separate with Christ's role. Christians believing him to be the son of God, Jews not, and Muslims only believing he was a prophet but not the last prophet from what I understand.

Greatest irony is that the fundamentalists of any faith, emphasis on the mental part, don't realize that the essence and not doctrine that has been twisted anyway , is what the teachings are about. Words can be twisted, but not the example and the way they lived what they taught.

Zanjan: Don't answer a question with a question - it's bad form.

There are plenty of things one can't see directly, even when one can see it, like the moon:

Cheryl Santa Maria
Digital Reporter

"Friday, August 1, 2014, 7:31 - That bright, white sphere we see in the sky at night is actually shaped more like a lemon, according to a study published in the journal Nature earlier this week.

Research out of the University of California suggests the Moon actually looks more like a 'squashed sphere' that bulges at the side and is flat and the top and the bottom. One of the contributors says it resembles "a lemon with an equatorial bulge."

For the study laser technology was used to calculate the Moon's topography with unprecedented detail, allowing researchers to determine the true shape of the Moon."

Ork will love that one.

wolfsongstormspirit: All I have to say about the moon is that it is 400 times smaller than the sun and yet 400 times closer to the earth. The odds on that happening is beyond count to have it exactly right for an eclipse and the EXACT distance to create the gravitational pull for the oceans and such.

calybonos: Actually, since the Moon was much closer to the Earth to begin with and has been observed to be receding at a (current rate) of 4 centimeters per year, it was inevitable that at some point it would happen. We just happen to be here at the right time to enjoy an interesting, but temporary, celestial show.

Nothing supernatural, just celestial mechanics playing by the rules.

wolfsongstormspirit: Yes 'observed' at a rate of 4cm a year because it's easily shown on a planet that size to be precise in measurements. LOL Now as for proof that is was much closer? How did they figure that one out or is it yet another 'Theory' like a lot of it is. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
