However, over time the teachings of the various religions, due to a variety of reasons, have become distorted and mixed with made-man ideas.
The last Prophet and Messenger of God, Muhammad , who is a direct descendant of Abraham through his first born son, Ishmael, was sent with the Last Guidance, Revelation and Testament, the Holy Qur'an(koran) to amend and correct the changes and corruption made to the the "Torah" which was sent to Moses and theTrue Gospel of Jesus.To say the truth ,God preserved all the other Holy Books plainly by preserving His Last Book the Holy Qur'an(koran)which contains the right and the truth of all that was changed in those other Books.
God promised that since Muhammad is the last of the series of the Prophets and Messengers and since the Holy Qur'an is His last Book of Guidance to humanity, He Himself will guard it from any changes or corruptions till the Day of Judgment. This is why this last Revelation which was sent 1433 years ago has remained unchanged, not even a word or a letter has been altered.
There is not even one word of difference between two Arabic Qur'ans, anywhere in the world. There has been no disagreements in history among Muslims as to what should and should not be in the Qur'an.
Islam teaches us that we must pray directly to God without an intermediary and no soul can bear the burden of another and that the nature of humanity is good, and we did not inherit sin from Adam. Each soul comes into being free of sin.
The oneness and universality of God's message requires that people accept all the messengers of God. Rejecting one of them amounts to rejecting them all. The Jews reject Jesus's mission and Muhammad's mission; the Christians reject Muhammad's mission; whereas the Muslims accept them all, \

orkanen: You're very right about the changes made to the Torah and the Bible. Many gods reduced to one, the ancient land of Israel presently being a part of Lebanon, the present Israel being the former Judah, and so on.

It was only natural for Almighty God to preserve the scripture revealed to Prophet Muhammad, because he was the last Prophet and Final Messenger of God.



It has always amazed people to find out that the entire Qur'an was not only memorized word-for-word by hundreds of the companions of Prophet Muhammad, but that it has been memorized verbatim by thousands upon thousands of people until this very day in its original language of Arabic. However, when Serbs murder and rape innocent women in Bosnia, they are not called "Christian terrorists", nor are the activities in Northern Ireland labeled "Christian terrorism". Also, when right-wing Christians in the U. S. bomb abortion clinics, they are not called "Christian terrorists". Reflecting on these facts, one could certainly conclude that there is a double-standard in the media!

So much for peace in the Qur'an.

Anyone who attacks otherwise peaceful people, be it for ideological or religious reasons, are terrorists. You may explain away that particular verse if you wish, but the verse still remains in the Qur'an. The never changing Qur'an, despite around 200 abrogations made during the course of Muhammad's "prophecies", and despite the discovery of forgotten manuscripts in the great mosque in Sana'a showing that the Qur'an has been altered.

I reject the god claims made in the Qur'an, as well as the Torah and the Bible because they are contradictory and nonsensical, not in an effort to deny anything.

When you say "There is a god", in this case, Allah, I ask you how do you know. You may tell me he created the heavens and the earth. I will continue asking how do you know. This may go on for a while until we either reach the conclusion that we can never be sure whether or not this god exists, but that you believe in it and I don't, or you may accuse me of something I have never admitted to, or perhaps something completely different. Either way, we will never agree to the existence of your god. You claiming he exist, I objecting to your claim, for lack of evidence.

The IRA were/are catholic...that's well known, though they were never fighting over religion their fight was/is with British government over territory ....the pope wasn't giving orders to do it, although he probably never said they shouldn't.....N tbh you cant compare the IRA to jihad or any of the other Islamic extremists because they never set out to try n murder innocent people. Their objective was to hurt British government by blowing up buildings n they always gave fair warning to try n spare innocents lives. I grew up in Manchester when the IRA were most active n we weren't living in terror, as a kid it was great...we got a day off school whenever there was a bomb scare. The problem with the public perception imo cant just be blamed on the media....For example, a Muslim woman was asked to remove her berqa by an mp (near where i llive), because he couldn't make out what she was saying, n the Muslim community was outraged, marching in the streets etc.theres even been women refusing to take them off when they collect their kids from school??? thats ridiculous??!!...then,..a young solider from my town was hacked to death in broad daylight supposedly in the name of Islam....n the Muslim community more or less stayed silent n didn't attend the funeral.....a relatively small number did go on a march.that was organised by the army...so to those who don't know better it doesn't look good......it looks like the Muslims aren't bothered because he was white....N like you have complained about the media reporting such crimes you should really be complaining about the scum who are using your religion as an excuse to do whatever they like....only you can make it clear where you stand

There have been a number of reports recently of Muslim gangs grooming young white girls for underage sex. Nobody ever claimed these men were terrorists. They are just sordid criminals.

find_the_truth: verses relating to fighting or "killing" refer to those who aggressed against Muslims and mostly [especially in Chapters 8&9 of the Quran] refer to idolatrous Arabs who committed "war crimes" against Muslims.

The final Messenger of God Prophet Muhammed said, "One who kills (non-Muslim citizen of the Islamic state), will not even smell the fragrance of Paradise."

I could easily link the above events and the much more ones that were documented in history to Judaism and Christianity. But any normal educated person would seperate these kinds of massacures from religion.

orkanen: I suggest you read the Hadiths more closely, and in a less biased fashion. When I read them, I see him for what he was. Not as a prophet, but as a man of his time. Muhammad was many things, aggressor included. Starting 70 of 72 wars he participated in, I compare him to Hitler, and with good reason. Both waged wars for personal gain.

I have gone through some of the teachings of Islam, partly by reading by myself, partly through the aid of a Muslim friend. I am not impressed. If Islam is so wonderful, why the need to force people to stay by threat of death penalty?

You're trying to shift focus here, towards Christians and the U.S. I'm neither a Christian, nor American. Hitler was a Roman Catholic, Stalin was raised Greek Orthodox but rejected his belief. Why not bring up Pol Pot as well, being an Atheist?

The most peaceful region in the world is Scandinavia, which by the way is also the least religious. Correlation does not imply causation, I agree. Let us see the least peaceful regions in the world instead. Some of them are ruled by totalitarian ideologies, some by religious ideologies. Perhaps religions and ideologies are parts of the same problem after all?

I judge Islam by its message, as well as by its followers, just as I judge every other religion. Whenever most religious groups believe they have the upper hand in some way, they try to demand that everyone else follow their way of life, their way of thinking. Some Muslims claim Islam to be the religion of peace, yet the word Islam means submission. That is certainly not the path towards peace. You can keep your religion, I don't want any part of it.

ghostgeek: find_the_truth, I am beginning to think you protest too much. No religion is free from blemishes, not even Islam. You seem to have conveniently forgotten that a number of terrorist outrages have been committed in the name of Muhammad, the last prophet. Not only do such acts get peoples' attention, it positively insures that Islam and terror become linked in the public mind. If you think frightened people won't react you clearly do not understand human nature.

lavendar_star: I totally argee with Rebecca, no Muslim country or the Muslim communities have condemned or spoken out against the evil group in Nigera who kidnapped those poor girls. I am atheists and I do have concern regarding the global and national (Britiain) raise and influence of conservative islam which some wish to influence onto non Muslims. Unlike Christainity (which I am also not a fan of) there seems to be no room for Islam to moderise, liberlise or adapt itself to Western norms and culture and this is causing some people to become increasingly hostile to Muslims even though most Muslims are peaceful. There does seem to be increasingly two worlds one of Muslims and another of non muslims in countries like Britian.

I think this is because some Muslims are becoming increasingly isloated within their religion and not intergating enough into the Western countries they live in. As for Islamic countires the way women and non muslims are treated there is disgusting and does seem to come from the pratice of Sharia Law.

I’ve studied the Quran intensively and have not found that to be true. Muhammad clarified the misunderstandings that had accumulated but NEVER changed a word or a thing in previous Scriptures. God doesn’t go back on His Word and one can’t change the past. His Revelation was new for the times; that was the focus.

Although the Quran is certified authentic, that doesn’t guarantee or preserve understanding. The rise and fall of any religion is an undeniable dynamic explained and re-affirmed by all the Prophets, including Muhammad, Who predicted the same for Islam, which has now fallen into the hands of many who are unworthy of it.

No, God didn’t promise that at all. In fact, He has repeatedly promised to continue to send His Messengers, never leaving mankind alone. Not anywhere is it written God wouldn’t send another Holy Book after the Quran.

Factual Truth: Muhammad spoke of the Great Announcement, the declaration that closes Muhammad’s dispensation and opens a new one. God never changes His ways; He has said this has always been His method in the past and in the future. That’s why each religion of God has its own calendar.

Not only this, the end of that age was also the end time of prophecies to that particular Day of God, long awaited by all religions – the end of TIMES (that’s a plural), launching of a great new cycle in the order and development of mankind, some aspects of which all Prophets have previously described, including Muhammad.

Don’t misconstrue this -> God speaks only through the Promised Ones; each bears His Seal, and the next Seal opens understanding, releasing the spirit that was lost.

Zanjan: FYI, the Arabic language has many tribal dialects; all those have changed since the time of Muhammad. All languages do that because they’re a reflection of the people’s culture in their generation. Anyone can read a language; doesn’t mean they understand what is meant.

If your statement were true, there would be only ONE body of Muslims, reflecting the Unity of God. Fact: there are thousands of sects of Islam, same as Christianity and Judaism.

I have to agree the media always attaches the name of a religion to a terrorist group, which is not correct reporting. On the fair side, they frequently film buildings being blown up to the shouts of Allah’u’Akbar. The public should be permitted to come to its own conclusions. Should they do so without investigating the religion of Islam, God will hold them to account for their failure.

In this respect, I also agree the Muslim community as a whole has failed to stand up to the crimes against humanity, particularly, those done by members of their own religion. They haven't fought for the truth, defending the Cause of God - they've let the public remain ignorant while relaxing at home on their couches. Muhammad had strong words about cowards in His Faith.

The wise don’t judge a religion by the conduct of its people – they judge it’s stage of life by the numbers of people conducting themselves in a certain manner. They wont associate with any group who's **values** are different than their own.
