chronology: Jack, thanks for an interesting Post, although you have already stated many of your points before.

Jack statistics can be made to look alarming. Just look at the statistics about living standards in the U.S. for most workers there. Few people noticed a statistic in 1974, it was the first time living standards for the average American worker had not increased since WW2. Since then the U.S. Economy has been in a slow motion rail crash ever since. Living standards have not improved for the average American Middle Class working family since 1980, apart from one or two years. In the early 1970s millions of steel and auto jobs vanished from the Midwest, never to be replaced, in 1971 the U.S. ran it's first Trade Deficit since the American Revolution,

Visit an American Factory today and you find in many factories few workers work for those Businesses, most are outside workers employed for lower wages and no benefits by an Agency, (it would be interesting to see who owned those Agencies, one may find it was the factories hiring the workers) The disposable income of working families in America has also got smaller and smaller for the majority of Americans, less money to spend on non essential items like food rent and utilities.

What would America look like today had it not begun the 'race to the bottom of the barrel' in 1974? well the average American working family would have twice the real wages they have today, they would have no debts but rather thousands of dollars in savings, American Cities would look neat and tidy, not like run down war zones which many do.

The 'Slash and Hack' attack on the living standards of American workers was probably motivated not just by greed and profit hiking, there probably was an element of trying to control inflation and protect the Dollar by cutting jobs and wages for workers after the Oil Price Shock of the early 70s. Which is why some analysts would probably suggest it is nonsense to get sentimental about the past, the Oil Price Shock had destroyed the American Dream.

Jack, here you may be saying 'and your point is' well my point Jack is that whether you live in the comfortable U.S.A. of the 1960s or Iraq of this century, you are going to face often rapid and traumatic change as the world economy lurches and sways this way and that. You can try and point the finger at a few American Companies if you want to.

Outbackjack: I point my finger at successive American governments who have slavishly bowed down to their Corporate masters and decimated the American working class through selfish Friedman economics. At the same time they have raped and pillaged Iraq.

These scum are nothing more than traitors to their country and international war criminals and should be taken out and shot.

chronology
chronology: Jack, Jack, you are looking at America through a magnifying glass again. No nation in history, not one has approached the world while in a position of 'arbitrator' the great Empires of the past, Nineveh, Babylon, Greece, Rome, Spain, France, England, the U.S.S.R. and the U.S.A. today all of them, everyone have followed a Reactionary Conservative Agenda. Jack do you seriously think the U.S. can set up a Liberal American society in Iraq? The U.S. is not an Empire it is an 'Arbitrator' in Iraq, and that means 'going along to get along' what was the alternative Jack? leave the Iraqi people to be plundered by the Sanctions Vultures? leave the Iraqi people to starve? leave the great nation of Iraq to be a trodden down nation without any self respect at all as it was before the U.S. Liberated it? no control over it's own boarders, it's own trade, it's own very sky? they could not even fly planes in their own country.

Sorry Jack, America found Iraq as a car crash country. at least today Iraq is on the road to becoming a free country again. Would you Jack, in all sincerity wish to see Iraq as it was before American Liberation in 2003. Thousands dying of hunger every week, corruption off the scales in Oil Sales, that is not even one your anarchist dreams, that is a country dying a slow painful death.

Outbackjack: They need to leave Iraq and stop meddling in other countries.

I keep showing you facts but you choose to ignore the facts and dismiss statistics. Going on about how great America is and the good it is doing is not a debate. I challenge you to dispute the facts I have posted. You have not proved any of them are false only waxed lyrical about Americas greatness,

So until you actually do I am done going around in circles with you with your rose tinted glasses that you wear.

If you looked a bit closer and examined things properly you would see the bloodshed.

ghostgeek: I see your point David but that doesn't lessen the fact that Israel seems to have some world class dodgy operators. Thinking about it, how come so many people could get away with so much fiddling for so long, if there was as much transparancy as you imply?
