On being of the Vanguard

junyabee: On Being the Vanguard YouTube version- YouTube At what ever time our attitudes found resonance with others, be they in the '60's or '70's , the Reagan '80's or the G. 'W' Bush/Post-9/11 years : just because you found affirmation with numerous others does not mean that you have a cultural will, let alone political support base behind you. You must realize that there is little commitment of the many beyond platitudes, homilies, and 'Like'-indications for what you think, express, and have or would do. YOU are 'The Vanguard'. As such, You are the creators of the new culture. The corollary to that is that you are the creators of YOUR OWN new birth of freedom.

chronology: Rosaleen Norton was a real 'Vanguard' 'Rowie' Norton as folks in Sydney called her. Kings Cross became her home, a place she could finally fit in. But stories of 'Devil Worship' in Kings Cross were just too much for the Sydney Police who arrested her for performing 'unnatural sex acts' on her boy friend. It was odd really because all she was doing was holding a whip while he bent over a chair naked. But that was enough to land her in Court.

A friend who visited the tiny flat in Kings Cross where Rowie lived often could not get her to answer the door. but the heavy scent of Cannabis and scent sticks coming out of the flat was enough to tell the friend Rowie was smashed on Pot and casting spells.

Sorry but being in the Vanguard just seems too intense. Maybe you could get away with it in the sand dunes but not in a major city. When U.S. Customs found a shipment of books from Australia by Rowie they took them off the ship and burned them. Maybe being 'Banned' would have meant Rowie got her books back.

junyabee: O-j,
Populism is the idea manifested by the few and given lip-service by the many. The 'Reaper' takes the lives as cruelly away in this present bougie-system over decades (along withthe degeneration of nature), as it does acutely in Kronstadt's, Stalin, and Pol Pots miserable excesses.

I've come to believe more and more that this stage is the transitory learning stage for our next metamorphing.. Those who invest their consciousness to the bounds of the cradle-to-grave suffer the outrages of the inherent limitations of this dimension

Outbackjack: So putting the Jacobin aside Trotsky should have taken over from Lenin?

It would preferable at least to Stalin

junyabee: Most assuredly... Stalin demonstrated that on that level of the food chain a ruthless ambitiousness wins..
I'm about other than 'that level', and I infer that Trotsky's vision was more Napoleonic, if militaristic. If it remained political, what may have transpired in the 1920's Germany or the 1932 election in America?

Outbackjack: Hmmm. You never know.

Though the Versailles treaty was the main driver of discontent. It is also fair to say a Communist Germany would have repudiated it.

What then I wonder.A united Communist eastern Europe versus the Capitalist west? The West clearly demonstrated by helping the White Russians that they would never tolerate Leninism.

Or would German communism have taken on it's own distinct version and been a rival to Moscow?

We will never know.

I do strongly disagree with Leninism,Trotskyism or Marxism.

junyabee: (I just remembered the label 'Weimar Germany) It, W-G, could be a more uncontrolled version of post-2008 Bank Panic America.. Instead of the eventual National Socialist in brown shirts we get 'the suits' connected and bought by the banks/financiers.

My 'Improbable History' (ala the Rocky & Bullwinkle Show-en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mister_Peabody): Napoleon was a cynical democrat. Marx & Engels, etal. picked up on political power vacuum of post-French Revolution/Napoleon.. The Balkans, pre-WWI, were the populist fuse that couldn't be repressed in a timely manner, catching the signatories of the Congress of Vienna in their political suicide death-pacts...

The Bismarck Germans began the cultural ex-sanguination of Germany as they let Lenin return to Romanov Russia that would 24 years later be a revenging return to the by Stalin's (not the 'assassinated' Lenin or murdered Trotsky's) Red Peoples Army....

Trotsky did live until 1940 even if he was in exile in Mexico.

chronology: Jack, with respect it is a little simplistic to talk about Hitler wanting 'living space' in the East. You need to consider the relationship of the German people with Russia in the century leading up to WW2. Germans formed an elite in Russian Society back then. Practically all the engineers and skilled workers in Russia were Germans living in Russia. They were a vital part of Russian society. When the Russian Revolution broke out you wound up with millions of disaffected people living in the West who had left Russia, German Professionals, Russian Capitalists and former Land owners, practically all of them thought communism had been a failure and had no future. Russians were paranoid and saw the threat of an counter revolution from their former ruling class along with the skilled Germans who had left the country, Russian Aristocrats wanted their property back, Germans wanted their privileged position back. There was also the problem of extreme nationalism at the time in Poland which unnerved both Russia and Germany. By 1941 all sides were in a 'Mexican Stand off' and it was just a question who would throw the first punch. The United States was also beginning to extend it's new global influence and threw it's support behind Russia, Washington saw Germany as a real threat to sovereignty of the Atlantic, while Russia was seen as a distant backward country of no interest to anyone but landed gentry who had lost Estates. Despite the support of Washington's Political circles, practically all of Americas Military Professionals at the time saw Russia as a hopeless case, they thought the State Department was wasting it's money and time supporting Russia. The State Department however was having nightmares of a Germany with an Empire stretching from the coast of Alaska, all the way to the boarders of France, not just the Atlantic, but the Pacific was at risk from the German Fleet. .

junyabee: @Chronology

1) There's a reason why there are isolated monasteries, communes, and other cultural and cult hermits for the reason you think. The mass of humanity are broken, spiritual beast who'd rather live under so-called security than find the liberation in their own expression. That liberation comes with a price of sacrifice which few dare to even think about seriously..

2) Czarist Russia, the Bolsheviks, German Intellectuals and ex-pats, Hitler, Nazis, Lebensraum were elements that had ironic vanguards mostly due to the cynicism that enabled the distorted anomalies of Lenin's Bolshevism and Hitlers National Socialism. WW1 was the heating catalyst that freed those hounds of vanguard thought loose in a culture that had become inflexible and unresponsive to the common people-from England to the Balkans and East.
It was throwing a match into a room of powder kegs..

Outbackjack: But there are different forms of "vanguard".

Neo Liberalism has its own vanguard even if it is ironic. The true believers in that "movement" would no doubt see themselves a force for change and innovation.

junyabee: Even if we give them the benefit of the doubt, it brings to mind a post I made about SU pulling out the conference and post-seasons tourneys..
The Neo-Libs are the narrative-apologist for their meta or real puppet masters.. They, for self-interests benefit from 'the game' keep going, but they have to fabricate the Ozian illusion for the chumps who so naively want to believe everythng is real and meaningful. .. Every so often, like 'W' Bush in his time or even LBJ, you go too far and disrupt the enchantment on the sheoples and disrupt the credibility, loyalty, and obedience to biz as usual...
Much like Luciano an Lansky had figured out, it was the-biz that was foremost, so a system
'the commission' was installed so people wouldn't go off the chain and disrupt things..
Just as the folks as SU, who have a cozy relationship with the pols and the media have been able to get away with alot in their small pond, they went too far with their schemes and gave their big boys no other recourse so to keep the ruse as credible but to 'punish' them (really the players)
So with the neo-libs, their hook-up to finance or aggravating Russia, or supporting Mid East despotic regimes beyond the ethical or moral considerations for the citizenry, and they're in ful damage control..
Their 'change and innovation' is to rebuild the image for the chumps that things will be fine for them to continue their indulgent, immediate gratification pursuits and seasonal fetishes w/o paying attention to what's going on outside of their narrow world, which is the point of the game..
(Something the folks at SU forgot in their hubris(

junyabee: Unlike those who use the 'Anonymous' avatar, 'My Vanguard' would look like homeless persons. In ways 21st Century John the Baptists, but without a public ministry. What 'ministry' they have would be ministering to their own cognitive discipline to be the vessels and conduits for the Ouija Board-like visitations that would channel through them at their acute emotional moments-somewhat like the Incredible Hulk without the green and muscles, just the convulsive shriek at the moment of emotional acuity and visitation-chaneling
