Never in his wildest dreams did he ever foresee himself sat in front of a TV watching News Stories of Ships sinking in the South Atlantic with Excorcets Paid for with money from his Banks, and streets full of millions of Strikers in Poland, again bankrolled by his Banks money. No wonder the poor bloke had a panic attack and fled to London. The problem was, the Vatican, were Mr Calvi's Bank was Registered is 'Off Shore' and beyond the control of Rome's Government. Lawmakers in Washington would probably tell you most of the questionable Arms Deals with Iraq were made via Tax Haven countries they have zero influence over. Even MI6, Britains Intelligence Department had real problems keeping money from being used by Argentina to buy Arms during a war with Britain. I was wondering which Tax Haven folks in Oz choose to squirrel all their Dosh away. Turns out Aussies just use the same Off Shore Countries as everyone els. It is a piece of cake to set up an Off Shore Account and costs only a few hundred Australian Dollars. Seems you just create a small Company in one of those countries, that gives you an Bank Account over there, you then charge yourself 200.000 Au Dollars, or any amount you like, for setting up the company using that company to charge your self, then transfer the money to the Account. Few people, including your wife, will ever know where that money has gone. Seems it not just the Australian Tax Service that is scammed out of billions of Tax Dollars, Wives over in Oz also loos out on gazzilion amounts of money which is hidden away. Sounds mean, but that is said to be the biggest sales pitch some salesmen use who are peddling Offshore Accounts, it is not 'hide it from the Taxman', it is 'hide it from the wife'.
