OCD_OCD: Here's an article on how the Federal Reserve system works. Why it was set up. However, that also has been bastardized. It started out with a good purpose but by the time the Federal government finished manipulating it to suit their needs, it has become as corrupt as everything the Feds lay their hands on.

OCD_OCD: ... "A handful of Fed-loving U.S. senators led by Chris Dodd rewrote the Senate version of the Financial Reform Bill to strip out Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed amendment and actually expand the Fed’s power over banks, lending and money. As Alan Grayson pointed out here, and Ron Paul commented on here, the Dodd bill completely eliminated legislation to audit the Federal Reserve, which had already passed in the House.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) introduced an amendment on the floor effectively adding the Grayson-Paul language to the Senate bill, but later changed his amendment under pressure by the Federal Reserve and the Obama administration. The altered Sanders amendment passed the Senate on May 11, 2010 by a unanimous 96-0 vote.

Sen. Vitter reintroduced an amendment with the original Audit the Fed language. The Senate rejected the amendment on May 11, 2010 by a 37-62 vote.

The House and Senate went to the conference committee which attempted to reconcile the differences between the two bills (and their amendments). Unfortunately, Ron Paul’s tough language ended up not being included in the final bill.

On June 30, 2010, the GOP introduced Ron Paul’s Audit the Fed bill as a motion to recommit, which was the last chance to alter the financial regulation bill. Audit the Fed failed by a vote of 229-198. All Republicans voted in favor of the measure with 23 Democrats crossing the aisle to vote with Republicans. 114 co-sponsors of HR 1207, all Democrats, jumped ship and voted against Audit the Fed." ....

the real slim DEEPy
the real slim DEEPy: if these southern states with widespread poverty have not the income tax revenues to pay for the expanded medicaid, how do you suppose they do it? as most states are legislatively prohibited from running a budget deficit, which they would default on, anyways, due to the low tax revenues. also try to understand that the non-unionied "poorer" states have drastically low costs of living compared to an uber-liberal unionized areas, where the spending of the overpaid and trust fund babies leads to localized inflation of housing and basic living expenses- as well have to suffer under exorbitant big-brother "vice", "junk food, and transportation taxes. the impoverished in the south often enjoy much higher standards of living than the impoverished in the north, due to a vastly lower cost of living, and minimal vice, food and transportation taxes. 18,000 a year in southern, right to work states, goes, at least 17% farther, on average, than 18,000 in a unionized urban area. making that 18000 equate to a disparity adjusted $21,250 yearly income- while the exchanges make no adjustments due to localized cost -of -living trends.

my highest paying job , ever was 23,800 a year, and i was NOt empoverished in the least. i purchased my own home, had 2 car notes on very nice vehicles, and plenty of excess income for eating out, clothing, a vast anime collection, and party supplies. i was not in the least bit "empoverished", and those who claim that you cannot support a family on a mere 23,800 yearly simply are confusing needs for luxuries. i had cheap, company-subsidized health care plans, which i declined- due to my young age and prime health. i saw health insurance as paying for what will likely not happen until 10 years n the future- which , i saw as resulting in a 12,000 waste of premiums before my first small co-pay for a visit to obtain old people heart pills and such.

single mothers and young children qualify for wic, irregardless- thus the lack of coverage of 20 something males is almost a moot point, outside one born with a genetic condition, or one who fell prey to a freak accident, uncovered by workers comp or comprehensive medical added to manditory auto insurance. and, young Americans who fall victim to a disability, well, they get a disability check (a penance, compared to welfare benefits); however, they get a great medicare plan at a <$130 a month premium.

also, the significant amount of welfare recipients in rural areas own small, but habitable, cabins, and supplement their food stamps with micro-farming, and such. these habitable cabins have been passed down from generations- thus, have absolutely NO housing expenses- without having to be segregated into a huge urban project sprawl in a high-expense unionized metro area, and, thus, handicapped from finding a job in their blighted side of town, to get off welfare and public housing.

so, single mothers and their young children are covered, the disabled and retired are covered, auto crash related injuries are covered under comprehensive auto insurance, and the large collective of healthy-bidied and sound-minded welfare leeches are covered. the only ones not covered are 27-35 age males and their childless female counterparts- who are largely healthy enuf that paying for insurance would be no more helpful than if they simply lit their cash on fire.

the real slim DEEPy
the real slim DEEPy: affordable health care is a noble gesture, for those who need healthcare; however, the 20 somethings , with low medical risks, would largely be throwing away money on compulsory insurance, gambling on receiving an illness , which often never comes to fruition until into their mid 30-s- making "affordable healthcare" an unnecessary expense for the largely healthy 20 something range.

the real slim DEEPy
the real slim DEEPy: people who complain that 18,000 a year is "impoverished should see 2 things.

1st, my present income is 5,000 yearly, and i can live comfortably in a low-cost- of- living, right- to- work state, in a small apartment, shared with a roommate i feel that i enjoy lots of luxuries like high speed internet and 300 channel cable tv service, a dependable, performance trim toyota and a decent amount of disposable income- and NONE of this provided by family members, all from my own income.

. no section 8, welfare or snap subsidies required. ***a roommate***, that is all it takes to cure poverty. take an example from the mexican migrant workers, and simply realize that a bedroom per person is NOT a necessity. my highest level of income, 23,800, not much above the "povety line" allowed me a comfortable and satisfactory life, a home mortgage, 2 car loans and LOTs of luxuries, and my income went from 8,000 a year to 23,000 a year after merely 5 years as a fast food employee- thru advancements

suffering is caused by desire, and, since i dont want anything i already have, i do not suffer. those who "suffer" from poverty, are often confusing luxuries with necessities, or, they are simly suffering out of their own jealousy.

now, the homeless, who fall thru the public assistance cracks, due to their mental illnesses, lack of address , phone number, and inability to utilize the bus route to make important evaluation sessions and a tendency to be overwhelmed by days, dates, retaining documents, and understanding /following confusing government guidelines/paperwork- these are the truly impoverished and suffering, in this nation.

all other issues with the coverage issues are merely victims of the draconian premiums, deductibles, income brackets premium inequalities, stipulations and tax penalties associated with the obamobaclecare.

Term limits for Congressmen and Senators. Also, any law that they pass, they need to follow the law ie: Obamacare. They just can not wave that monstrosity because they can.

In for a few years and out. Perhaps intelligence position could be a little longer since that type of turnover actually hurts.

Oh, and if they can not balance and follow a budget, bye bye birdie!

And re: Bozo the Clown....Bozo's feelings are hurt. Apologize!

OCD_OCD: Harry Reid is an ass.

"Harry is at the breaking point, weary from exhausting his thesaurus for synonyms for “arsonist” and “terrorist” and “pillager.” Everyone could see the cracks in his exchange with Dana Bash, a reporter for CNN, who asked why, if he is concerned about children with cancer who are unable to enter clinical trials for new drugs because Mr. Obama shut down the National Institutes of Health, why stifle Republican attempts to grant a little relief?
“If you can help one child who has cancer, why wouldn’t you do it?” the reporter asked.
“Why would we want to do that?” Mr. Reid snapped back. “I have 1,100 people at Nellis Air Force Base that are sitting home. They have a few problems of their own. This is — to have someone of your intelligence to suggest such a thing maybe means you’re irresponsible and reckless.”

I'm not a fan of statistical polls because it can be biasly done and not represent everyone but it is clear that there are Americans who support the Obamacare and that it can be reasoned that Obama won the elections based on something, he made it no secret on his intension to press for it. On a plus the ridiculous antic pulled by the Repubes made for a good 'wtf haha' moment.

When people have to pay up to $12,700.00 in medical costs ON TOP OF their monthly insurance coverage, or up to 10% of their salary if they don't get this ridiculous "insurance", it is a burden and it pays for nothing except 70% of catastrophic coverage.

It is catastrophic coverage at the price of high-end insurance coverage without the coverage.
