Thank God New Jersey has finally joined in with giving those, of us who are ill and the medication is no longer working an opportunity for Medical Marijuana. The pills will eventually destroy our livers and kidneys. Have you ever heard pf anyone dying from a weed overdose?

resi419mr.fancypants: DAVE 3974 you stated that marijuana has far more cancer causing properties then tobacco, buddy you are so wrong. look at the annual deaths from tobacco to marijuana. there are NO DEATHS reported in the history of using marijuana. annually yearly theres a good 80,000 deaths caused by tobacco. Also marijuana kills cancer growth. ill put money on all of that

That is a whole different topic though.

Why is it....

As a chef of an extremely busy restaurant, during the years 1989 through 1996 we used 100% Peanut Oil in our cooking and our fryers and NO ONE ever got sick or had a problem. But now, some one with peanut breath can send another person into cardiac arrest. Now why is that? Why are so many people allergic to peanuts?

dave3974: Here’s a fascinating extract from an article in the (23rd February 2013) ‘Times’ magazine, an article about Kuesnacht, a rehabilitation clinic for the super-rich in Zurich, by that interesting writer Robert Crampton. Much of its work involves helping people to stop taking ‘antidepressants’. Interesting, but not the point that leaps from the page.

The clinic’s founder, a Canadian doctor called Lowell Monkhouse, is quoted on the subject of cannabis. Alas, Dr Monkhouse uses the expression ‘addiction’ to refer to habitual use, but let that pass. Most people do, because it is generally accepted and unconsidered in a society which more or less denies the possibility of self-discipline.

One patient is said to be likely to spend the rest of his life in a secure psychiatric hospital. '"He had cannabis psychosis’" says Monkhouse, "We couldn’t help him’".

‘The hardest addiction to break, he adds, is to cannabis. Cannabis - certain strains at least – is also the drug that can cause the most profound and the least reversible neurological damage, often quickly, often in very young and otherwise healthy adults. The drug many people think of as harmless can send you mad, swiftly and permanently’.

Note the words ‘most profound’, ‘least reversible’ , ‘swiftly’ and ‘permanently’. And this from a man whose lifelong trade has been treating drug abusers.

And still, a coalition of dupes and cynics campaigns for this drug to be on legal sale.

XWhiteandBlue: Resi.fancypnts: Calling dave gullible & his article "propaganda" does nothing to counter his argument quoting an existing rehab center.

You would be a lot more convincing, if you could post the counterargument refuting the claims from teh rehab center.

Putting smoke/tar/hot ashes into your mouth & lungs (regardless of nicotine/THC content) IS harmfull to your body.

Takng mind-altering substances (regardless of the intake method) on a regular basis, and without a consistent dosage/ close medical supervision in the case of medical MJ... is harmful to the mind AND body.

I've seen articles about strains of cannabis that can treat chronic pain, without the cognitive/judgement impairment (high) but then I've heard people dismiss that option here with merely the comment "naw... I'd rather get high"

resi419mr.fancypants: noones ever got cancer from cannabis. heres a new fact to add to the peanuts as well. It was long propagandized that marijuana killed brain cells, when in fact scientist have recently found it stimulates for the groth of ne brain cells. if you getting your facts that a are based off a movies called reefer madnaess, then of course you gonna believe everything u hear. The fact is that people can say what they want, but i bet if you read the date on your references their all studies before 1996 when they said little is known
becaus nixon and following made study on marijuana illegal. the fact is , its like aspirin it works for a number of things. I have spinal arthiritus, i refuse to get addicited to opiates, so tell me the whos the wiser. it works for the pain, and its not addictive. i just enjoy it so i do what i enjoy. if your recovering addict, then you gotta look at yourself, its not the drug that makes it addictive, its your own personal doing.i doubt in the history of sane people, noone has ever sucked dick for a 5 nug. so you gotta ask your self, are you just accepting the fact that everyone at those drug groups meant for narcotics addicts, the weed heads dont belong there. Unless your pink sheetting it and u have too. im not saying getting cancer is impossible to get off marijuana, but if u wanna try it , your gonna be trying really hard
and youll probly live to be older then the rest.

dave3974: Consequences of marijuana addiction start to take toll when the user continues to use marijuana even in the event of health or social consequences. Memory and learning problems may be causing problems at work or even result in losing a job because of high absenteeism. Increasing isolation from friends and family often puts heavy strain on relationships with loved ones. There is a vicious cycle to marijuana addiction in which these problems are often used as a rational to smoke even more pot. A trap that many fall into is that the drug that is causing the problem becomes the solution to the problem it caused and yes cannabis is loaded with carcinogens .
