photographicink: Where does the idea of rights come from? According to the founders of the United States they come from GOD. What is the purpose of having "rights"? If it is to become happier I haven't heard of women being more happy than ever. Wealth beyond middle-class ie. something like 40 k a year does not make anyone happier. Marriage can make a lot of people happy but divorce can have the opposite effect and women's rights groups like the idea of being able to divorce for any reason although arranged marriages are slightly happier after 5 years. It seems like women want to be like men but believe me we aren't much happier and may never have been happier than you. [If you want an explanation for this ask me.]

Some of the so called rights are not logical for example the right to an aborton. It takes two to have a child but it is the woman's body even though there is a seperate life in her body belonging to the two of them genetically. If the baby is birthed it suddenly is also the man's responsibility even without any intervention after conception. How things are worded when dealing with "rights" matters, ie abortion, not fetus killing or baby killing and pro life as opposed to pro death, although the fetus is a separate life and a living creature. So abortion is a greater euphemism since you can abort a lot of things without ever feeling guilty like aborting a plane that is on fire.

Bumpa: Gerald makes a good point. Women in Iran have fk all rights and are abused by the beuracracy. But to suggest we need womens rights movements in the West is total crap. What we really need is a mens rights movement.

SexualChocolate4u: Have the women posting in this forum considered the possibility that perhaps they were passed over for jobs because they weren't qualified or were beaten out by a better candidate?

Men and women are different creatures and will never be equal. We have different mental and emotional needs and for that we each play a role.

salisburycin: there are things that men can do that women can't and there are things that women can do that men can't. Also, the older a person gets, the more likely that person is to hire someone to do things for them.

I actually find it's usually age that gets us. Here, older men want younger girls barely legal. Not all - but a lot do. But older women, seem to have more respect - but then again depends on the age of the respectee However I do believe men can do what women cannot, as women can do what men cannot. salisburycin: As long as I am paid the same with the same benefits as a male then I have no quams. I am more concerned with human rights.

zxy8: I believe in equal rights for both men and women. They should earn the same (if they are skilled the same), I beleive they should each do 50/50 housework if they are a couple and I am sick of sexism from both sides. Equality should occur always.
