PureSilver67: I used to not believe in soulmates until I met someone who I'd call a soulmate late last year ... thing is that person needed to deal with certain issues in their life and felt that they could not do it while in a relationship so left. Signs you’ve met a soulmate: There is a powerful, instantaneous feeling that you have known the other before You felt an instant and deep connection for each other Words aren’t good enough to describe the electrifying feelings you share together Your relationship is immediate, as if no time has passed since you last ‘knew’ each other Time and space lose meaning when you look into this person’s eyes You have a completely open relationship and don’t fear judgment Neither one of you are dependent on the other for your sense of self Your feelings for each other are spiritual There are no restrictions within the relationship: there is no need for ownership or control Both of you know without a doubt you were brought together for a reason The relationship has a deep sense of purpose You become one without losing your individual identities You see yourself in the other person’s eyes  Hugo K.: soul mates exist, though not always in the way one expects. a lot of people have determined that soul mates must make a connection on a romantic note, but that's not always true. your soul mate could be your best friend, your lover, your mother, or some random person you met on the subway.. it really has no boundaries as long as the connection you feel is pure. i do believe i've met mine in one of the most beautiful women i've ever encountered.. and even when i moved across the ocean away from her i still felt intense emotion whenever she was endangered, heartbroken, and extremely happy. she knew the same things about me, and sometimes could warn me about things that would happen to me hours before they happened. from separate continents? i always involve myself wholeheartedly when it comes to relationships between my friends and lovers, but our bond was truly unique in the intensity of it all. if that's not what soul mates feel like, than i really don't know how to define the term. as cliche and romantic as that seems, don't get me wrong, i don't believe that once you meet your soul mate everything will be perfect forever. in some cases they will stay together, in other cases they'll drift apart after having learned what they had to, and in some unfortunate cases they'll be ripped apart by pure circumstances of nature.. some soul mates never meet. but they do exist.
