Time (Page 2) LiptonCambell: Life (cf. biota) is a characteristic that distinguishes objects that have signaling and self-sustaining processes from those that do not,[1][2] either because such functions have ceased (death), or else because they lack such functions and are classified as inanimate en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Life I think that's succinct. A star is not life- but a starfish is. And stars existed billions of years before any form of life.....they had to....the elements we are made up of demand it.... Like I said, practically, I cannot agree Farwuq: Who ever said stars are not alive? Scientists have registered what might amount to " screams" coming from stars that are being " eaten" by black holes.... Like I said, the argument/point is still practical Farwuq: Stars are made up of molecules, protons electrons, etc. ; so is all of life, for the most part. Just because a star is another form of life, does not make it "not alive". By "scientific" standards, that may be true, but science changes ALL the time; remember how science said (among other things) that " rocks cannot fall from the sky, for as everyone knows, there are no rocks in the sky" ? METEORS? lol.... CoIin: I think the only way to settle all this is to nuke all the observers And blind people too. And snakes CoIin: We don't do these things because they're easy. We do them because they're hard - J. F. Muttley Corwin: If Suns are "alive"... then maybe "molecules" are "alive" too....... Woahhhhh!!..... my mind is totally blown..... Maybe my "shoes" are alive too.... and my fridge... This is too much for me to handle.... I think this words are Mr, Lipton's (I like the sound Mr. Lipton) billions of years on whose observation? LiptonCambell: >>>I think this words are Mr, Lipton's (I like the sound Mr. Lipton) billions of years on whose observation? various methods and, thus, various people. an easy one to research would be cosmic radiation background noise Corwin: That's right... the further you look into space, the further back in time you look. When you look to the very end of our view of the Universe, you see the very beginning of it.... this is the background glow of the Big Bang itself... plainly visible through the correct telescope. LiptonCambell: lol parts of it exists in television and radio static. Thats why it was discovered- the discoverers were trying to figure out what was hurting their signal, and how to make it go away Corwin: Time is something we waste a lot of, here on Wireclub... there must be SOMEBODY here who knows what the heck it is. lincn: time went by as the flowing water. Now that it had gone, we didn't need to feel sorry about it. Azariel: lols Corvin I like that ... and it can never be found again, a moment in time that is it is gone it remains only as a memory, time is the the past the present and the future | Philosophy Chat Room 3 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
