Talk about your country Hyenablood: OCD don't you wish at certin times of the year you could trade places with someone from another country ? OCD_OCD: Oh, yes. During the hell of summer (in late July and August) when the temps top 110, I'd rather be somewhere a bit cooler. Hyenablood: Geoff come to the praire provinces of Canada, we are having unseasonable warm weather currently. OCD_OCD: I suppose it would be unkind of me to say that it is 59 degrees here today and will be 70 degrees tomorrow, huh? LOL Nicorrette: -20 celsius grades here!tthere cant be 70?where are u in Africa ?even in Africa night is colder than the day! StuckInTheSixties: I've learned that in Wireclub, it's a good idea to define temperatures in both standards. Eventually, Farenheit has to go. It's arbitrary. Celcius, with 0 degrees as the freezing point of water, and 100 as the boiling point, makes far more sense. Geoff: Fahrenheit was a non-decimal system invented after the decimal system. Which says a lot about the bloody-mindedness of humanity. Hyenablood: OCD come to canada, the praries, we are not too cold, not too warm, just right, and the sun is shinning, and the birds are singing, and the streets are all wet, but the people are happy and peace-loving right now. OCD_OCD: My parents have spent a few months there. They went to fish and came back cussing the rain. LOL. They said it was beautiful, though. Geoff: OK - my country may be an exaggeration. None of my great-grandparents were born within 200 miles of each other. I've got English, Scottish, Irish, and German Jew in my immediate genetic makeup. It does make me very aware of how pointless racism is. Nicorrette: I dont hate racism!racism is not the first oen guilty!before them and then some angry humans! Hyenablood: hey I'm a native of canada, but I also have some white in me, now what exactly that white is, is unknown, but I look at it as I've got Europen blood and canadian blood, maybe some american too. Hyenablood: the world is a global village nicorrette, some of my ancient ancestors could have traveled into the us and found someone. Hell even my great - great grandparents could have. And it wasn't just french people who came over to Canada, you forget alot of Europens traveled here. (Post deleted by lavendar_star ) lavendar_star: I'm from England and its bloody cold now and we have crappy summers too and I would consider it my country despite both sets of grandparents being from Jamaica, as I have do have some English ancestors.
