Futterwacken: The forums would be a bore if everyone agreed with everyone else. I could care less if you agree with me or not. I posted "my" thoughts on the subject. I think if a child is old enough to help themselves that they should be weaned. If there are people that don't agree with that view I'm fine with that. What makes you a troll is the fact that you call names and you are not debating or posting your thoughts in a respectful way. Not just this thread but in every thread you post in, you are very rude to the ppl who post and don't agree with "you".

wolfsongstormspirit: Ahhhh Post Shit you actually think that your opinion of me and how I choose to interact with those I think are arrogant fools is that vital to my personal happiness? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I say what I think because I want to. I show respect to those I feel are worthy of it. The others, like you, I treat with the derision and disdain that you deserve.

deacon7771: ABSOLUTELY! What "apdad2002" just said! LETS GET BACK ON POINT! This discussion thread about BREAST FEEDING got hi-jacked into a long winded argument and was completely off track.

apdad2002: so true. How many other moms and dads out here believe in long term breastfeeding for their children? It is natural healthy and good for them and makes them closer to their parents. In public is also natural and should not be looked down on.

deacon7771: I myself am not certain, about when it is right to stop breast feeding, but I think it should continue for as long as both the mother and child feel it is the right thing for the child. For my wife, she stopped when my son was three, and I do not think "three is the right age" or the wrong age, maybe four, maybe two, I don't believe that at this time there is enough real factual information for people to make a good informed decision on the matter.

IT IS clearly known that breast fed babies are healthier, and there are clear indications that the longer the breastfeeding years, the healthier overall the child will be over their whole lives. So I can see why someone might think five years or even six years would be better, maybe it is, I myself would like to see some scientific study on the matter, and I would be especially concerned about the health of the mother, as I understand, a breastfeeding mother can end up depleting her own bodies nutrients if she is not careful to see to her own nutrition.

apdad2002: yes that is true, my wife had to be very careful and take many vit. to stay healthy. I was so happy she breastfed so long as I am sure it is good for my kids as they are very healthy and a little older now.

Nicotina: If a person in the immediate vicinity of a breastfeeding woman is uncomfortable, they are welcome to move elsewhere.
A sad state of affairs when people are "offended" by a breast being used to nourish a child.

wolfsongstormspirit: Precisely Nicotine as it is about the other person sexualizing an act that is far from it. The boob is a feeding device at the time. Not a pleasure device.

apdad2002: So agree with u. The breast of a woman is so natural and pretty just knowing they are feeding a baby or young child. There should be NO time limit or location that a mommy can breastfeed. My mom breastfed me until I was 7 years old. In public until I was 5 and then in private as most people did not understand why I was fed so long I am very healthy person and feel very natural about it

deacon7771: I am a "weirdo" by many people's accounts, and I am a damn silly one at that. While I do usually keep my cool, especially in the presence of naked female breasts, I also enjoy and enthusiastically encourage any activity that causes more female breasts to be naked more often.

Dalai Mama: it's moronic there is even a debate, if you choose to breastfeed, put a blanket over ourself. Peeing is "natural" yet you don't see ppl trying to defend pissing in a public place. if you don't cover yourself you are an attention seeker and if you breastfeed past bab into toddler you need to re-examine why you are breastfeeding.

Nicotina: What's moronic is forcing a baby to eat while covered under a blanket. More so in the heat of the summer. The breast IS covered by the nursing baby.
How you manage to equate eating with urination is beyond me, Dalai Mama.
