Kaiya_: as bad as it sounds do NOT CPS the child. so many parrents and grand parrents do this thinking theyre going to get the baby only to have the child be taken by the system and abused. The CPS is not a government agency and recruits primarily from "Dyncor" known to be engaged in international kidnapping. The statistics show that you are 10 more likely to be abused in the CPS care than in the home.

kritz0: LOL@Dyncor and international kidnapping.
You have been watching too many movies, or you're really just that ignorant. Funny about it being 10 times more likely to be abused in CPS care.
Yes, foster parents can be seen as worse than the biological parents, but the chances are the same as if the child was with their biological parents.
I forgot how abuse apparently ONLY happens in homes approved by CPS and never in the actual home the child's blood relatives are eh? That's HILARIOUS. ....Makes me wonder how children end up in CPS care if most parents are such STAND-UP people.

To the OP: You will NOT gain custody of this child if you cannot prove you have better financial stability.
Get to proving that and get a lawyer. You can USE the complaints filed to CPS to your advantage.

real_enterprise: So sorry to hear. It is unacceptable and very selfish of a parent.

My grandfather had bad teeth when he was a child because they didnt have proper dental care available and it poisoned his blood and had to have transfusions throughout his life because of a form of leukemia. If the child is unhealthy you have to act in her best interests though and not the interests of your daughter because she obviously is not very concerned about anyone but herself. It is difficult but if she is old enough to have a child she is old enough to take responsibility for her actions like the rest of us.

I met a man once who married a woman and her 2 daughters had 4 kids between them and they were in their teens. The man and his wife took custody of ALL 4 grandchildren (all under 3) and they were in their 60s because the mothers would party all night, spend all their money on liquor, cab rides, clothes, hair, nails and other luxuries and not feed or clothe their children.

It is a tough place you are in and I wish you and your grand daughter the best. Do what is best for the child.

kritz0: So you are saying to feed a one year old candy and cookies is her trying to make things better? LOL@THAT.

So it's alright this child has ROTTEN teeth, that is not being dealt with RIGHT NOW. I see. I guess all children should have such negligent parents. Builds them a backbone eh? You know...if they survive to the point where they have to actually use it.

kritz0: ^^^ Uhm...if you mean post PARTEM depression, well then the answers are STILL all the same. The child has done NOTHING to deserve a parent who takes out their depression on them.

The child should be taken away and the mother needs a good physical and mental check. You're fucking retarded to think that just because she has post partem depression that her actions are alright and should be forgiven. That is the most ABSURD thing I have ever heard anyone use as a defense.

SHE is the adult, not the child. Why is the child suffering because SHE is still overcome with hormones from giving birth a year after doing so. She should have known the signs when everything became too much for her and gotten the help.

I had a bought of PPD after I had my daughter, but I knew these feelings were not right and the actions I had been taking were not the right ones. I found help, I did what a responsible ADULT would do. Heck, I wasn't even legally an adult yet.

Megroco: Wow... You need to do something before it's too late. She's going to lose that kid. Hopefully you will get to be the one to take care of your grandchild and not some stranger. Sounds like you will do a damn better job then your daughter. Your daughter needs to learn the hard way. Every child deserves to be loved to the fullest and never put in dangerous situations. Step up and do the right thing before it's too late I'm sure this is one thing you will never want to regret not doing. :-) Best of luck!!!!

spiritualmaster: Hi Medic I can only talk about DOCS in Australia and they have a very bad track record of kids being harmed and dying in their care ,and of lies and cover ups .Do know what you mean though yes it happens in their own home to .But this grandma should be stepping upto the plate or finding someone that will .Where the kid will be safe or better still pulling her daughter into line and be responsibille.for her child ..

medic17: I agree spiritualmaster. I was going under the assumption that grandma was unable to care for the child for some reason. Bottom line is this child needs a safe and loving environment. I always think that if possible the child should be cared for by responsible family members. If not, then CPS as a last resort.
