Red_Clover: its sad...because the children dont get a good life or a better standard of living.
The money is supposed to go to them...but often with mothers who do this, i see neglect.
Welfare doesnt give a lot of money...its basically supposed to go to the children.
But when i see kids in dirty old clothes and the mothers with new hair and nails, leaving their kids with babysitters and always going out with their bf's...kind of pisses me off.
I grew up in a low income area and many woman did this in my apt building...-
after my father died my mother was on welfare for a time, but then got educated and received her RN and started to work, and hasn't been on welfare since.

Its not just money, but work ethic and dignity that you have to teach kids.

guess who: there are a lot of women here that do this and a large percent are drug users, what a shame.

MrSnuggles: In a couple years time the latest trend will be men getting pregnant, literally giving birth, then claiming excessive benefits for the emotional pain they had to endure during the giving birth moment...

guess who: any man that can pass a baby thru his pz@z~ deserves to get benefits.

Nosferatu: I didn't mean to post a topic that was misogynistic. Obviously, there are plenty of guys who would do the same thing if they had the proper organs and most of them are probably living with the women who get pregnant for benefits.

mauzie_: I totally agree with nosferatu, alotta guys prob benefit from the benefits too!! Putting it all on women is wrong.
It is sad though, imagine bringing a child into the world for money.

guess who: plus what happens to babies who really aren't wanted they were just made because their parents wanted the welfare check. That is the sad part.

brissy_girl86: i am just going to say yes, there are many women out there who use and abuse the system to recieve whatever they can but there are others out there like myself. i am a single parent, not by choice either however i raise my DS by myself. i work full time, i dont recieve a single government benefit however i am entitled to them. as i live in australia, our government is quite good with supporting single parents and also partnered parents(heck there are parented parents who abuse the system something shocking over here). the only thing i recieve from teh government is the child care rebate which is half of my child care fees back every 4mths which is quite helpful. i dont recieve any child support as its just not worth the stress nor the effort. my son has everythign he needs and coudl ever want.

brissy_girl86: sorry about that. i wasnt calling anyone darling apart from my own son. he is my only darling at the sweet ripe age of 2. i belong to a few parenting forums and they are used quite abit hence why i use DS as i dont use his name

guess who: I have no problem with people getting welfare for the help that they need as long as it is not a permanent thing (unless they are disabled) what I am against is couples who make children just so the state can support them.

Nosferatu: Well even if you are okay with paying taxes for supporting one or two children I'm sure you are probably a little put off by octomom and how cheap is she too not only sell out for herself but to do it with Jon from Jon and Kate plus 8!
