The Upper Paleolithic.

GeraldtheGnome
GeraldtheGnome: Roughly 40,000 years ago or as I'm instead going to put it, 38,000 BC (which technically should be 37,999 BC) was a time when the world was getting colder, it had been in an Ice Age since 60,000 years before this, it continued to stay in that Ice Age all the way until when the Holocene started in 10,000 BC (which technically should be considered to be 9,999 BC) .

ABKHAZIA. : NEANDERTHALS. : MOUSTERIANS. : They hunted what I mentioned in the forums 10,014 BC, 10,013 BC and 10,012 BC, as well as that of the forum I will make in the forum 10,001 BC. Technically they should be considered to 10,013 BC, 10,012 BC, 10,011 and 10,000 BC instead. In other words they hunted the Mammals, Birds and other creatures I mentioned in those forums as well as what plants they gathered. They also hunted European Pond Turtles and Colchis Pond Turtles.

AUSTRALIA. : CRO MAGNONS. : AUSTRALOIDS. : 'Here they developed boat or raft building skills and by 40,000 years ago had reached New Guinea and Australia (then linked into one vast island continent, probably by a series of island hopping voyages. Though the distances that were covered were relatively short as the sea levels were lower than today (a large amount of water was locked up in ice caps) , these early sea voyages were a great achievement, even if possibly accidental.'

That was a doctored version of 'The Cassell Atlas of World History, The Ancient and Classical Worlds, Volume One' by John Haywood, Part 1 The Ancient World (4,000,000 - 500 BC) (which technically should be considered to be 3,999,999 - 499 BC) . 'Outline of World history, 1.02 Peopling the Earth, 100,000 - 10,000 years ago. ' I hate politically correct terms, I prefer 'The populating of the Earth. '

See Abkhazia minus the reptiles mentioned there, but they hunted the Arafura Filesnakes, Little Filesnakes, Wonambis (an Extinct giant 6 metre Snake) , some unknown to me Pythons and Tree Snakes that I have no information on, Narrow-breasted, Owen's Ninja Turtle, Murray River, Red-bellied Short-necked, Worrell's Short-necked, Northern yellow-faced, Yellow Faced Saw Shelled, Saw-shelled, Bellinger River Snapping, Namoi River Snapping, Meiolania, Western Swamp, Sandstone Snake-necked, Northern Snake-necked, Dinner-plate, Northern Snapping, Red-faced, Victoria River Red-faced, Mary River, Rheodytes devisi, Warkalania, Western Swamp, Eastern Long-necked and pig-nosed Turtles, Megalanias, Sand Monitors, Perrentes/Perrentis, Goannas and Frill-necked Lizards, also Euryzygomas and Phascolonuses (an extinct Diprotodon Marsupials), Ramsayia magnas (extinct), Procoptodons, Procoptodon goliah, P. browneorum, P. cegsai, P. maddocki, P. mccoyi, P. oreas, P. otul, P. pusio, P. rapha, P. texasensis and Procoptodon williamsi Giant Kangaroos, Protemnodons (10 extinct types of this form of Giant Wallaby were found) and Genyornises (an extinct Emu like bird) .

There was a sea crossing in and/or around 38,000 BC to Australia, but everything, at least as far as I'm concerned shows that there were humans in Australia well before then, especially considering that in 38,000 BC Tasmania had its first humans arrive there via a land bridge that then linked it to the mainland.

AUSTRIA. : NEANDERTHALS. : Mousterians. : They hunted Common European and European Pond Turtles.

CRO MAGNONS. : AURIGANACIANS. : See above.

BELARUS. : NEANDERTHALS. : They hunted the European Pond Turtles and Tarpans.

CRO MAGNONS. : See above.

BELGIUM. : NEANDERTHALS. : MOUSTERIANS. : 'Mousterian Culture, Middle Paleolithic tool industry of West Eurasia and north Africa, about 150,000 to 40,000 ya, that is often associated with Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis. The Mousterian culture is characterized by its distinctive flaking techniques and range of tools, including small hand axes, flake tools and the first hand hafted projectiles (spears for close-impact hunting of large game) . Differences in tool assemblages from site to site may indicate cultural varification or seasonal specializations.'

CRO MAGNONS. : AURIGNACIANS. : 'Aurignacian Culture. The earliest Upper Paleolithic stone tool industry in Europe (c 40,000 - 29,000 ya) , associated with the colonization of the region by anatomically modern humans, It was characterized by a diverse new range of specialized stone and bone tools, such as burins, scrapers and projectile points and by the appearance of complex works of art including engraved pebles, bone and ivory carvings, clay figurines and cave paintings (by 30,000 ya) .'

That was from 'The Cassell Atlas of World History, The Ancient and Classical Worlds, Volume One' by John Haywood. Now since I see that book as being fairly accurate and that Wikipedia isn't with it's claim that the Mousterians were 300,000 to 30,000 years ago, something I just don't believe, instead I do believe that the Mousterian way of life died out 40,000 years ago and that the Chatelperonnian Culture replaced it in a small amount of places while in other places people lost that form of Technology and reverted back to the Mid Paleolithic way of life or just simply moved away from certain areas while others became extinct in certain areas. By the time of 40,000 years ago the still existing amount of Neanderthals on the Planet was quickly decreasing, they did become an endangered form of Human beings, later on the more efficient Cro Magnons who just reached Europe slightly before or during 38,000 BC (which really should be considered to be 37,999 BC) were so highly competitive that this and other factors (not solely related or even about Cro Magnons) later on brought about the extinction of Neanderthals. Then again, just like the exact time when Cro Magnons first appeared in Europe is unknown due to a lack of information to prove exactly when they did, besides on that note maybe Cro Magnons didn't even indirectly have even the slightest thing to do with the extinction of the Neanderthals.

BOSNIA. : NEANDERTHALS. : MOUSTERIANS. : They hunted Hermann's and Hercegovinesis Tortoises and Maginated Tortoises, European, Eastern and Balkan Pond Turtles.

CRO MAGNONS. : AURIGNACIANS. : See above.

BOTSWANA. : CRO MAGNONS. : BASWARAS. : They hunted African helmeted and Pelusios Turtles and also Leopard Tortoises. There is no information that I can find on when exactly the first humans arrived in Botswana, but it may have been as early as 38,000 BC.

BULGARIA. : NEANDERTHALS. : MOUSTERIANS. : See Bosnia, they also hunted Spur-thighed Tortoises and Caspian Turtles.

CRO MAGNONS. : AURIGNACIANS. : See above.

CRO MAGNONS. : See above minus the Aurignacian Culture, these ones lived by the ways and means of Mid Paleolithic technology, so they were primitive in other words compared to the Aurignacians.

THE CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC. : CRO MAGNONS. : They hunted the African Spurred Tortoises and Giant Tortoises. See Botswana, minus the Reptile information there. I have no information on when anyone arrived there, but it may have been as early as 38,000 BC, from people that moved in to what is now The CAR from the south.

(SPAIN) Ceuta : CRO MAGNONS. : They hunted European, North African and Saharan Pond Turtles, Morocco and Souss Valley Tortoises. See above minus the Reptile information there. I have no information on where they first arrived in what is now Ceuta, but it may have been as early as 38,000 BC from people in what is now Morocco.

(UK) The Channel Isles. : NEANDERTHALS. : 'Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis. (Neanderthal Man) . Specialized cold-adapted human species that evolved in west Eurasia and the Middle East from late Homo Erectus, about 230,000 - 150,000 ya. The recent recovery of Neanderthal DNA has shown that they were not ancestral to modern humans. The Neanderthals had short skeletal frames to reduce surface body area exposed to the cold and heavy facial structures to protect the sinuses and lungs from cold air. They used middle Paleolithic tools, hunted a range of animals, lived in open settlements and cave sites and were the first humans to express aesthetic qualities and religious beliefs (formal burials) .'

That was from 'The Cassell Atlas of World History, The Ancient and Classical Worlds, Volume One' by John Haywood. Actually there is no proof that Neanderthals or any other type of Human including Cro Magnon Humans ever carried out any religious beliefs, the idea instead originated by a number of scientists guessing that they did instead.

CRO MAGNONS. : Woolly Mammoths no longer went to the Channel Islands (which were then landlocked to Europe) in 38,000 BC ago or slightly before that, so it is very doubtful that in 38,000 BC or after that (if at all) there were any Mammoths for Neanderthals and Cro Magnons to hunt even, not even one from what I can tell. Unless I find evidence to prove otherwise.

CHINA. : CRO MAGNONS. : Search for Reptiles of China on Wikipedia, everything on that list or more to the point, every Reptile that existed then they hunted and ate.

THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CONGO. : CRO MAGNONS. : They hunted African Bush Elephants, Loxodonta atlantica angammensis and Loxodont atlantica atlantica, African Forest Elephants, Warthogs, Giant Forest and Red River Hogs, Fanged Deer, Bates's Pygmy Antelopes, African Buffaloes, Bongos, Bushbucks, Sitatungas, Peters's, Bay, White-bellied, Blue, Black-fronted, Ogilby's, Yellow-backed and Common Duikers, Waterbucks, Reedbucks and Reeboks (that's a joke by the way) .

THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO. : CRO MAGNONS. : SANS. : See the List of Reptiles of the Democratic Republic of Congo at Wikipedia, but only in the Turtles section, they are all the Reptiles that they hunted and ate. I can find no information on when they first arrived in what was until recently (back not back then) called Zaire, but it may the Sans may have arrived there from the south as early as 38,000 BC.

THE CZECH (please !) REPUBLIC. : NEANDERTHALS. : MOUSTERIANS. : They hunted European Pond and Common European Pond Turtles.

CRO MAGNONS. : AURIGNACIANS. : See above.

CRO MAGNONS. : See above.

DJIBOUTI. : CRO MAGNONS. : They hunted African Helmeted, East African Black Mud and Sub Black Mud Turtles and Pelusios Turtles. Djibouti him out ? No, he went on his own accord.

EAST TIMOR. : CRO MAGNONS. : VEDO-AUSTRALOIDS. : The Ancestors of Australoids to Australia, to East Timor, eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and so on were in East Timor, which was then landlocked, some of the early races/tribes to Australia were forming or had formed there, some even had formed or semi-formed in the way of Australoids proper, not just that of Vedo-Australoids (Proto Australoids) that existed before that of Australoids proper and also along the now submerged coastline south and east of East Timor where they made sea voyages to various places where land was on the other side of the sea.

AUSTRALOIDS. : See above. Some believe that they first set off at or around 38,000 BC, they set off at or most likely around that time to go south, but everything points to the fact that the first boat builders in the world set off to go south and east well before that amount of years ago.

ERITREA. : CRO MAGNONS. : They hunted African Spurred Tortoises, African Helmeted, East African Black Mud, Sub Black Mud and Pelusios Turtles. I have no information on when they first arrived in what is now Ertirea, but it may have been as early as 38,000 BC.

FRANCE. : NEANDERTHALS. : MOUSTERIANS. : They hunted the European Pond and Common European Pond Turtles, they also hunted Tarpans (an extinct form of Horse) , Woolly Rhinos and Woolly Mammoths.

CRO MAGNONS. : AURIGNACIANS. : As above.

CRO MAGNONS. : As above.

GABON. : CRO MAGNONS. : They hunted African Helmeted, Pelusios, African Keeled Mud, West African Mud, Central African Mud, African Forest, Pelusios marani and West African Black Turtles. There is no information of when they first arrived in what is now Gabon, but it may have been as early as 38,000 BC.

GEORGIA. : CRO MAGNONS. : They hunted Caspian Turtles.

GERMANY. : NEANDERTHALS. : MOUSTERIANS. : They hunted European Rabbits, European and Mountain Hares, Wild Horses, Wild Boars, Red Deer, Moose, Roe Deer, Alpine Ibexes, Chamois, Wooly Mammoths.

ALL OF EUROPE. : In Albania, Andorra, Belgium, Bulgaria, The Czech (this out !) Republic, France and Germany, the Neanderthals, including that of the Mousterian and Chatelperronian cultures, the Cro Magnons, including that of the Aurignacian, Gravettian, Solutrean and Magdalenian cultures all hunted Straight-tusked Elephants (Antique Elephants) , Woolly Mammoths, Tarpans, Hipparions, Irish Elks, Bos and Bos primigenius primigenius. For all the other things that people from everywhere so far covered in this forum, minus Germany, go to the forums 10,014 BC, 10,013 BC and 10,012 BC which technically should be considered to be 10,013 BC, 10,012 BC and 10,011 BC instead.

^ A genetic conspiracy theory that I don't buy. Technically anything in the country of the Americas is American, not just stuff from one country.

That was made by a Cro Magnon of the Aurignacian culture, no one knows exactly how old it is, some claim it is as old as 40,000 BC, I'm going to go out on a limb and tell you that is most likely dated back to 38,000 BC. There's no evidence to prove this, but some think that this earliest known sculpture in the world was about some religion that was practiced, I don't believe that. As far as things are proven, the earliest true sign of religion anywhere was during the early Holocene instead, not as far back as the time of the Pleistocene.
