There were ugly scenes in Surfers Paradise as wild brawls broke out between Schoolies on the most violent night of the week so far.

Police arrested 20 Schoolies on the Gold Coast last night.

These charges were predominantly for public nuisance and street offences.

Young people were punched, kicked and stomped on as groups of Schoolies clashed in Cavill Mall.

Two teenage boys were badly hurt.

Police are being kept busy with tens of thousands of school leavers partying on the Gold Coast.

But it's not only the Schoolies in trouble.

There were 36 people also arrested on Wednesday night, who are not school leavers.

They were arrested for being drunk in a public place, public nuisance and drug offences.

I do see this event coming to an end on the Gold Coast eventually but I watched a report on the news the other day about the schoolies that are in Bali ..... what a disaster they were.
