Aura: Rebecca I am so happy for you that your life is so good and valueble that you can not understand how dieing would be better. This is not a put down or sarcastic, really, I hope you will never change in that regard
However to some people, the fear of life is greater than the fear of death. This is not done to offend you in any way, it just is

Rebecca_76: wot you talking about...i werent offended by either of you two n of course your entitled to your opinion just like im entitled to mine n to be honest i was only looking at it from another point of view. Unfortunately dying is part of life n something we all face. Its got nothing to do with how well my life is going its your fear of being in pain. Reality is none of us really know how we would feel until we are in that situation. We can only assume.

Rebecca_76: N to be honest if it was me or a member of my family id rather die or allow them to die so there you go! But you need to look at it from all angles n it doesnt just inviolve the person who wants to die . Anyway im unfollowing im bored with it now its like talkin about work

Comrade_:
Depends on the situation. I think it is something that can be viewed on a case-by-case basis than a general yes/no.

nellie77: I say let nature takes its course, when the time is up the person will pass, I have seen people want to hurry family members death because of dollar signs, it's crazy and selfish...

Dying with dignity means being there for my mother each day, holding her hands talking to her until her own heart stops, I won't be the one pulling the plug....

Rebecca_76: Right...hmmm....I know!! Compulsory euthanasia for the over 70's... save us all the humiliation of old age. Also, save the economy, because lets face it the elderly cost us a fortune with all the medications they take. And it'll reduce the surplus population.....not a bad idea!

SillySally8
SillySally8: often the person dying is lying in a comatose state..unresponsive...npo....decreased heart rate...shallow breaths....and sometimes you can see it in their eyes.... they are ready, wanting to die...but only God knows when you will take your last breath...providing the person dignity is to care for them untill the end in whatever manner that may include....

the gentleman in this video is suffering from a poor quality of life and wanting to end his own...you can see/hear/feel his desperation when he weeps....however, as we choose to euthanize our pets/animals as we are considered their owners..we do not OWN ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL and therefore cannot make that decision......

now...i did care for a schizophrenic quadrapalegic years ago....now that man def had a death wish!!!!! he jumped from the roof of the grain elevators and lived..hence the paralysis and for many years tried to drive his electric w/c down ravenes and such.....medications were not successfull in managing the paranoia/voices of the disease and he was a total mess......on his more lucid days he was quite intelligent and charismatic..but when he was off??? look out!!! down right scary.....

I Found The Exit
I Found The Exit: I don't think that is what Stew is saying Rebbeca.

I think some ppl are happy to be alive and live (no matter their condition) and they are happy to have someone there to hold to their hand and see them out in a natural way.

BUT, I also see the ones that aren't. The ones that cry out in frustration because they can't make their body do what their head wants them to do. The screams down the hall "HELP ME". because he wants a drink but is paralyzed from the neck down. The person that struggles to feed themselves, using both hands just to get a spoon to their lips. The person that plays with socks all day at the nurses station. The ppl that can't feed themselves so they are stationed at the feeder tables. I see the pain in their eyes, their struggles. Their minds are all there and their body has failed them. I can't even imagine being of full mind capacity stuck in a body that no longer works.

I think it should be each persons "right" to decide how they want to leave this world behind.
