GeraldtheGnome: ABKAZIA. : ANIMALS. : VERTEBRATES. : MAMMALS. : HOMINIDS. : HUMANS. : HOMO ERECTUS HUMANS. : HOMO ERECTUS GEORGICUS HUMANS. : Homo erectus Georgicus Humans were not very 'excited' Gay Men, instead the Homo erectus Georgicus Humans existed as far back as 1,598,000 BC in what is now Abkazia. See the topic Homo erectus Humans on Wikipedia for more information.

OLDOWANS. : Homo erectus Humans that did use Oldowan Technology, the first type of Stone Age Technology existed as far back as 1,598,000 BC in what is now Abkhazia. There is no proof however that all Homo erectus Humans in what is now Abkhazia did have Stone Age Technology though so either all did or some did or 1/2 of them did or most of them did, there is not enough information around to tell you which is true. The Book I have at my house has the Author telling me that Oldowan Technology did exist at this time yet whoever put the information in about it on Wikipedia has it that it ended 1.8 or 1.7 million years ago and that Acheulean Technology first was used 1.76 or 1.7 million years ago though this is not proven. The Author of the Book I have is more reliable and more credible therefore I will go with what he has rather than whoever put in the information about these things on Wikipedia. See the topics Oldowan and Acheulian on Wikipedia for more information.

EVEN-TOED UNGULATES. : SUIDAE. : PIGS. : WILD BOARS. : Wild Boars and their Sus scrofa attila and Sus scrofa lybicus Subspecies did exist that far back in what is now Abkzhazia. See the topic Wild Boar at Wikipedia for more information.

RODENTS. : MURIDS. : MURINAE. : RATS. : BLACK RATS. : I have no information to tell me if Black Rats existed as far back or not in what is now Abkhazia. See the topic Black Rat at Wikipedia for more information.

DORMICE. : DROMYS. : FOREST DORMICE. : See above but make it about Forest Dormice instead. See the topic Forest Dormouse at Wikipedia for more information.

GLIRINAE. : GLIS. : EDIBLE DORMICE. : See Wild Boars but make it about Edible Dormice instead. See the topic Edible Dormouse at Wikipedia for more information.

PREHISTORIC MAMMALS. : GLIS SACKDILLINGENSIS. : See above.

CARNIVORES. : MUSTELIDS. : MUSTELINAE. : WEASELS. : MUSTELA STROMERI. : The earliest true Polecat was Mustela stromeri, which appeared during the late Villafranchian period. That was from 1,598,000 BC to 1.3 million years ago, I have no information though on if they did exist that far back in what is now Abkhazia.

CATS. : MACHAIRODONTINAE. : SMILODONTINI. : MEGANTEREONS. : 'The development of long Canine Teeth enabled these powerful predators to hunt and kill the large, thick-skinned grazing Mammals that shared their habitat. From stalking the prey a short dash and leap brought the Animal down. Then neck bites caused blood loss and shock, then the strangulation hold soon killed the victim.'

That was a doctored version from the Book 'The Marshall Illustrated Encyclopedia of Dinosaurs & Prehistoric Animals' by the Consultant Editor Dr. Douglas Palmer. Dinosaurs were Prehistoric Animals though. I will put on more from that Book later on.

HOMOTHERINI. : HOMOTHERIUMS. : 'In profile, Homotheriums must have had the sloping look of a Hyena, since the Forelegs were longer than its Hind Legs. When they walked , the whole Foot was placed firmly on the ground, as a Bear or a Human would. That is called 'Plantigrade' locomotion and it does contrasts with most other Cats, which walk on their toes (called 'Dentigrade' locomotion) . '

The last paragraph is also a doctored version of the same Book that I mentioned just before this. I will put more information about it from that Book later on.

DINOFELIS CATS. : 'NAME Dinofelis
TIME Late Pliocene to Middle Pleistocene
LOCALITY Africa (South Africa), Asia (China and India), Europe (France) and North America (Texas)
SIZE 4 ft/1.2 km long'

That was also from the Book.

ELEPHANTS. : DEINOTHEROIDEA. : DEINOTHERIIDAE. : DEINOTHERIUMS. : D. BOZASI. : 'NAME Deinotherium
TIME Europe (Germany and Bohemia), Asia (India) and Africa (Kenya)
SIZE 13 ft/4 m high'

That was also from the Book I have.

GOMPHOTHERES. : ANANCUS ELEPHANTS. : 'With its short lower Jaw and long, prehensile Trunk, Anancus looked like a Modern Elephant; but it has shorter Legs and an extremely long pair of Tusks which, at 10 - 13 ft/3 -4 m, were almost as long as the rest of the Animal.'

Yes, that was from the same Book as well.

ODD-TOED UNGULATES. : HORSES. : HIPPARIONS. : 'These elegant Creatures resembled Modern Horses, but like Merychippus had three toes, two of which were much smaller and did not touch the ground.'

The above is also from the Book that I keep mentioning on here.

CERATOMORPHA. : RHINOCEROTOIDEA. : RHINOCEROSES. : ELASMOTHERIUMS. : 'Elasmotherium had no incisors and would have used its lips to pluck Grass. The Creature's Cheek Teeth were like those of a huge Horse - tall-crowned, covered in Cement and with wrinkled Enamel. Such Teeth are adapted to eating tough, abrasive Grass. As the Teeth wore down, the wrinkled Enamel produced ridges that provided additional grinding surfaces. The Teeth had no Roots but grew continually to counteract wear.'

The above also is from the same Book that I keep mentioning.

COELODONTA. : COELODONTA TOLOGOIJENSIS. : 'Coelodonta had its rigins in the origins in the Pliocene of eastern Asia from where it migrated into Europe (but not into North America) and became the Woolly Rhinoceros of the Ice Age.'

That also was from the Book I have.

EVEN TOED UNGULATES. : HIPPOPOTAMIDAE. : HIPPOPOTAMUSES. : H. GORGOPS. : See my Forum 1,000,014 BC for more information.

GIRAFFIDAE. : SIVATHERIINAE. : SIVATHERIUMS. : 'Named in honour of Siva or the Lord of the Beasts, who is on of the principal Hindu Gods, this massive Animal would have appeared more like a Moose than a Giraffe'

That was also from the Book that I have.

BOVIDS. : BOVINES. : BOS. : AUROCHS. : I have no information of if the Aurochs and the Eurasian Auroch Subspecies existed as far back as then in what is now Abkhazia.

'The Aurochs spread during the Pleistocene times from its centre of origin in India. By the end of the last Ice Age it occupied a vast range in the Old World, from westernmost Europe to easternmost Asia and from the Arctic Tundras to North Africa and India. Despite their success however, the Aurochs eventually disappeared, succumbing to Human hunting pressure. They became extinct in Britain by the 10th century AD and the last Auroch died in Poland in 1627.'

LEPTOBOS. : See the topic Leptobos at Wikipedia for more information.

RODENTS. : CRICETIDS. : MICROTUS. : ALEXANDROMYS. : M. MALEI. : See the topic M. Malei at Wikipedia for more information.

ARVICOLINAE. : PLIOMYNI : PLIOMYS LENKI. : See the topic Pliomys Lenki at Wikipedia for more information.

DICROSTONYCHINI. : PREDICRONYX. : HOPKIN'S LEMMINGS. : See the topic Predicrostonyx at Wikipedia for more information.

See the singular form of each of the above topics at Wikipedia for more information. If I didn't mention on any of the above that any of them did exist as far back as 1,598,000 BC in what is now Abkazia (and include H. Gorgops into this mix) back then but there is no information available to tell me if they lived as far back as then over there or not. The Lower Pleistocene started 1.6 million years ago but I rounded it off, each BC and AD entry I put on here should technically have one year taken off on here. I squared it off to 1,598,000 BC.

For the Wikipedia Author/s entry/entries on when the Pleistocene Epoch, Lower Pleistocene Epoch started, Paleolithic started, Lower Paleolithic started, Quarternary Period started and when the Oldowan Culture started see Wikipedia under each of those names. They have a different starting point and a different ending point to what my Book has. The Author of the Book I have is more reliable and credible though so I'm going off what is in the Book in other words.

BIRDS. : Those that did exist in what is now Abkazia as far back as 1,000,013 BC also did exist there as far back as 1,598,000 BC. See my Forum 1,000,013 BC for more information.

REPTILES. : See above but make it about my Forum 1,000,012 BC instead of about 1,000,013 BC though and also make make this Reptile section all about 1,000,012 BC instead of 1,000,013 BC as well.

AMPHIBIANS. : I have no information if the ancestors of Variable Toads or of the Caucasian Toads or of the Common Tree Frogs or of the Caucasian Parsley Frogs (that aren't like Parsley) or of the Taurus Frogs or of the Marsh Frogs or of the Southern Crested Newts or of the Northern Banded Newts or of the Smooth Newts existed as far back as 1,598,000 BC or not in what is now Abkhazia.

FRESHWATER FISH. : I have no information on if the Freshwater native Fish that exist in what is now Abkhazia existed there or not as far back as 1,598,000 BC or not. See fish.mongabay.com/data/Georgia.htm

PLANTS. : I have no information about if the Ancestors or any of the current Plants that exist there in what is now Abkhazia existed or not as far back as 1,598,000 BC.

SOLIDS. : See my Forum named The Pleistocene Epoch.

LIQUIDS. : See above, but make it about solids.

PLASMA. : See above, but make it about Plasma.

GAS. : See above, but make it about Gas.

THE ENVIRONMENT, WEATHER ETC. : See above.
