It took over four billion years for something able to hold a screwdriver to appear on earth so intelligent beings are probably pretty rare in the universe. duncan124: That's a good point Geek but try thinking about it a bit more. Screws and bolts were more or less a medieval invention and even then bolts that were applied with a hammer at both ends were more common. But before that and for thousands of years humans built fantastic cities with amazing buildings. Leaving us with a historic problem of being housebound with the buildings being more important then the humans. ghostgeek: Let us say that humans and pre-humans have been around for a few million years. Compared to the age of the earth that is just a blip in time. duncan124: That's the Christian in you coming out and denying the evidence. There is only evidence of civilized humans from a few thousand years ago and uncivilized humans from a few thousand years before that. If there had been enough food then there would have been an industrial revolution in the medieval period and an end to the Christians then. ghostgeek: There's enough bony evidence to push the history of humans back into the hundreds of thousands of years. duncan124: Those findings are disputed as some had fillings and another a wristwatch.
