You know, when I first came to forums, I was not prepared for verbal abuses. I would get hurt very fast...and I took every post by members very seriously. Also coming from different cultural background, my posts were misinterpreted too...and all that took toll on me....like I wanted somebody to understand me the way I am and my thinking. When Stew came on forums, after reading his few posts, I had instant liking for him. I wanted to send him friend's request...but I didn't. You know, I was afraid that he might reject my request. He was a strong personality and I had no idea what he thought of me. When you like someone and if by chance you get rejected, it hurts a lot. So, it was like that for few days. Then something went wrong....I posted something [which i thought was my very sincere suggestion] on a friend's blog...and it was not taken in good spirit by that friend. I was deleted from her list. I was very hurt...cause I cared for her a lot. I deleted my profile. . Then I got an email from another friend to read forum on Wire site. I did...and say what? Stew had asked me to come back. . wow!! here there was someone, who understood me and liked me just as I am. I came back and sent him request. Thats how our friendship started.....and it is still rock-solid. Will tell you about how I met Ruby, next. calybonos: Cool love story! Lucky are those that find what their hearts desire... Sounds like you are a true believer in love at first verbal abuse. I wanna know how it ends......and they lived trolly ever after? PureSilver67: Oh Caly, nicely ..... take a hike ... there are people who just don't get on, there will always be those that just don't get on, and some who don't get on with those you get along famously with ... we are all human. So guess what, just don't "socialise" in that circle. There are definitely people in here who have a go at me ... so what, that's their problem not mine. I came in here long after the web of relationships (good/ bad) .... had already been created/ formed .. whatever ... I didn't reject anyone because one of my friends did not like them or the person I wanted to be friends with did not like someone already on my list and yet I've been tossed off lists because of who is on my friends list ... I figure it's that person's loss. I'm not going to lose sleep over it. Social networking has now become one of the best leisure activity to reduce stress and enjoy in this modern fast life. If one has just half an hour to spare, this is the best option..methinks.
