I think ones Wireclub account has an expiry date 2-3yrs tops. I've definitely reached that point and yes I'm still banned and yes I'm only 1mth into it and yes my banning time will be extended BUT I have no real desire to return to Wireclub the way it is today once my banning time is over so I'm going to post this anyway. I'm here today to support Falcon ( let it be known I DONT APPROVE of the way he's going about it and have told him so but did get a giggle out of it) and be the voice for other members that are of the same opinions regarding how this place is being over moderated. Here are 3 examples of topics that if done today would have had moderators jumping up in down suspending/banning members but as you can see, if you take the time to read them, members then handled it all old school way. The old (aka members that have been here 2yrs or more)Forum users have been called sheep and its try you are. Maybe you're happy to hide away in your blogs treating them as mini forums, happy in your tight little friends circle....so be it rules are rules after all hey. BUT where is your respect as a user. Sure sites need moderators but they should be there only when called upon and then if a complaint has merit then forward it on to admin. If your too intimidated to voice your opinion simple post, " Yes Rod Id like these question about rules addressed" or "Yes I have been displeased of late with Wire" No one wants Wire to die off, no one wants the site to close, members would just like the rule enforcement relaxed a little so they may enjoy themselves and deal with forum old school way. And before everyone jumps in to voice their opinions that i have no life or that I'm merely a board housewife with far too much time on her hands or that I'm taking this all too seriously.......this took about 30mins of my time to make up and Im sick of all the BS in here about it all. Some think it is a big deal, others couldn't care less. Which group should Wire try to appease? Basically all I have heard them say is, use common sense. Put topics where they belong. My thoughts; Rule #2 is a mote point because we really don't know the whole story. We have each heard sides. A Mod has already explained that the OP was a trouble maker and that is why the thread was per se "closed down" I do think Mods have that right when a topic becomes too heated. It happens on other sites. This would be one example that I feel Mods need more power, not less. Mods on other sites can "lock" a topic. Perhaps Wire should consider that option? >>> NEW RULE #3. My thoughts; Rule #4 I'm not sure where you came up with this idea. Perhaps you could describe an "undesirable member" Perhaps even provide an example? I haven't seen anywhere that these are the "new" rules. PoPinDiLLy: Seems I have time still to answer. #1 Stewart was suspended for not removing his football thread from general....really suspended for it, thats a bit pathetic dont ya think. #2 Doesnt matter what OP member was like the topic aka Hitlers Quotes wasnt generating hate so why are members told to stop commenting. What was so disturbing that it couldnt continue....I saw no reason for that action to be needed. #3 MrsDoubtFire is a character in a movie not the pic of the celebrity. Tinkerbell in a character that a celebrity voices over, should you be made to remove that.....member was banned for not taking it down, again really. #4 A member of 2yrs was warned for agreeing with Falcon in one of his posts....what happend to freedom of speech. This isnt about a single member being banned, its about the way the rules are being enforced. The dont need to be so anal about it all. Relax a little and let forum flow along. Ive bumped up and comment on most of the threads and the place is active, sure might not be because of me but it might be....Maybe I have that personality that draws members out and comment/express. Tink: The only thing I see causing forums to die is the people that keep coming in trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. That is my perception. It isn't fun for anyone to read this nonsense.
