Robot Seb
Robot Seb: I'm dying to know what Braden and Rod's first day was like as in did they have any plans or expectations on what the site would be like years down the road. If I were in their position, I would be proud of all you guys being the nicest bunch of folks on the net, even the mean people.

Corwin
Corwin: I had been fed up with Facebook... I had been using it to stay in contact with people I had known in person, and old school mates. I realized that I really didn't like most of my friends, and that those friendships were made mostly out of convenience.
I decided to look for a site where I could make new friends, and I happened upon Wire.

My first day, I found a chatroom called Free 4all Insults... where I met my first Wire friends. There were several of us who frequented that room, and spent the whole time hurling insults at each other for laughs, with honors given to those who could be the most creative and inventive with their insult abilities.

It was the most fun I've ever had online, and it was so cool to meet a bunch of people who shared my bent sense of humor. And to be able to verbally abuse each other like that without being the slightest bit offended shows real strength of character.

Most of them are gone now... some left, some banned... not everybody can appreciate that sort of humor. But the regulars in the Insults room all had thick skins and never took it seriously. The room was shut down a few times, as our behavior was easily misconstrued as contrary to the spirit of Wire, and not seen as a mannerly sort of room. But it was all in good fun... I really miss those guys.

They all took the Insult Party over to MSN (so it could be Mod-free) and begged me to join them there... but I kind of took a liking to Wire, and found that there was plenty more here than just the Insults room.
There hasn't been a room like it since.... but I've since met many terrific folks here, and made a lot of new friends. Viva la Wireclub.
