Woman bullied by kids on a school bus. (Page 2)

Sarcastic Dots
Sarcastic Dots: Oh yeah, kids are like this--less so nowadays I've noticed, at least here. Although, the "luls I beats their arse" comments from the internet are always stupid--no you wont, okay?

I remember, must have been about two or three years ago, that a few kids got on the local bus and tried to skip a fare: this bothered me a lot because, hey, the bus driver was only doing his job and, more selfishly of me, I was tired and wanted to go home. Now bearing in mind, about two of three years ago, I wasn't much older than these "kids" attempting to skip a fare and hurl insults at the bus driver. Irate as I was, I could kind of see the argument from both sides-authority vs lack of it: kids love that kind of authoritative toing and froing-- we all do.

Anyway, moving on, I paid for the kids fair and he quietly sunk into himself. I don't think he expected it to happen, nor do I expect to hand out money willy nilly, but people exacerbate the tiniest issues. Three pound could have been a lot of money to that kid, it certainly wasn't to me. Rambling on, in that situation, you expect a "thank you" and I almost got the cold shoulder, so I rammed my arm across the bus, preventing him from walking down the aisle and shouting "Thank you" in a questioning manner, to which he rose his head and snorted "Thank you".

Guess how much abuse I got from that kid all trip for showing him up in front of his friends by basically STOPPING him from getting on the bus? None. There wasn't even a murmur. The kids sheepishly past me as they left the bus.

Seriously, authority doesn't come from the belt or the fist: it comes from the attitude. Kids want the upper hand, and you don't give it to them. Once you've given kids the upper hand, you've already lost. Put a drill sergeant on the bus or some shit, I dunno, and he'd drill a few of those kids straight without touching them, I assure you.

lavendar_star: Just watched the interview with the lady who seem a tough cookie but those children are young, I couldn't imagine treating anyone but especially someone my grandmothers' age so horribly. Also they were physically intimating her and the verbal abuse some of which was sex in nature, disgusting children. I agree with what others have said what are the parents like and have they taken responsibly for their childrens' action.

I know I'm getting old but saying things weren't like this in my day or not as bad regardless of new technology and I know the US is very similar to the UK so this type of thing probably happens here as well. Lets hope parents take a look at their children and think would or does my child do this and how can I teach or reteach them to be respectful and decent members of society.

BlueOlive2: yes they can discipline without abuse but now days a kid can just claim abuse and the entire family is put thru a nightmare until proven other wise..I seen it time and time again....sorry I know they help alot of children the child services but they destroy just as many families without being disciplined themselves..

Nythe: Edit @ Blue Olive

Oh, I'm sorry. I took your comments as it was a fact. So you are saying you know "someone" that has been affected by this. I know someone too. But that doesn't make it the way you make it sound. The Government doesn't get all up in parents faces because a child makes some willy nilly report.

"If" you believe different, I would like to see the links or stats

MichaeI: Charlie, I'm unclear if the person recording was part of the bullying or not. I believe it was caught on a camera phone. It would seem logical that the person was recording it to show that the abuse was taking place but it's also possible they were recording it to post to make themselves look cool. If the latter be the case, it backfired on them.

xox G xox: Im with Jetters, kids in a group can be little jerks, ive seen n heard plenty of it. Have to say they are getting younger and mouthier.

Ive only heard bits of this story on the radio and this is the first visual ive seen.

Do we know what action if any has been handed out to the children via their school/parents, have/has the parent/s been interviewed.

Im sure their parents wont be amused by it all.

I dont think anyone should be blaming parents just yet as even a well raised child will have moments of stupidity when with a group.

Riff raf: being in groups makes ppl behave in "odd" ways, children have an excuse for it, they are minors. it's hard to explain it when "adults" behave in "odd" ways due to a group/mob mentality though. i could only watch half of this but i suspect as individuals most of these kids are not evil shite that should be flushed.
