The Intelligent Rappers: Who Are They? PopeReptilianLord: When the word "rap" comes to the mind, most non-rap listeners think of drugs, money, cars, bitches, all that 'good' stuff. What of the more intellectual rappers? these individuals get no credit, and usually get categorized with the other more conventional rappers. The truth of the matter is that there are a large group of underground rappers that are far more intelligent that mainstream rappers. It is my opinion that these rappers get no credibility, primarily due to their choice of music. Man rappers such as: Noah23, K-Rino, Fetti Profoun, Sole, Immortal Technique, ATMA, and many others focus on spiritual, conscious, political, or any intellectual topics of lyricism. These rappers have broad vocabulary's and talk about subject that matter. An example of such a song would be Immortal Techniques "Rich Mans World (The 1%)" In this song, he uses conventional rap lyrics, and "Ebonics" to convey a song through the eyes of a very wealthy individual. As a form of Political Satire, this song focuses on what goes on "behind the curtains" so to speak, and how affluent and powerful the "1 Percent" really is. From my view point, these rappers are more or less cast away. Most of them aren't even famous in the least bit. These so-called Gangsta Rappers are the front of the "Rap Game" and cast a heavy shadow on the more serious and intellectual rappers. Now, My question being: What is your opinion on the Intellectual rap scene? do you enjoy the complex lyrics, or do you prefer the more simplistic lyrics of the mainstream rappers? deezsounds: the following is my opinion How about when you finally get to hear these so called "gangsta rappers" speak about something real, the beat will fukin suck poppy shit . its like the majority of music from rap to bluegrass ... the "majority" of songs will have either a good melody and dumb words or good words and a shitty melody...artist keep certain songs from airplay to be purchased, thats business. Sex does sell... but the materialistic influence from the media is meeting its OPPONENT.... the growing networks of social media like Pandora that are free and provide recommender systems or recommendation systems that you can help personalize by your positive or negative feedback. now people are listening more and watching less, less to idolize and envy... if you only hear it you have to visualize yourself, I wont see that gold all in his watch, I believe him, but I wont watch... and that point...lol WHY THE FUCK WOULD I PAY MONEY, IN EXCHANGE TO HEAR SOMEONE ELSE SAY HOW THEY ARE SPENDING IT... FUCKING RETARDED, let me spend 20$ to listen to a guy talking about his rich lifestyle, yep i will take the cd home with me and listen how nice his life is, and be proud that I helped him by buying the cd . and be inspired by what he choses to spend his money on teach the children well.... drug dealers and hookers GOOD JOB PopeReptilianLord: Haha, yeah i completely agree man, the beats are good and the lyrics suck, and vice versa. THIS is the case with mainstream, mostly. A lot of the rappers I listen to, mainly Noah23, have both good lyrics, and good beats. its funny how unknown most of them are. People just don't want to hear some one rap aboou metaphysics, and some deranged occultist. like you said, SEX SELLS. MONEY SELLS. all this bullshit that these rappers spew is awful, I live in the hood and all I hear is this god awful rap music. The beat is good, but the lyrics are shit. then i go into my house and put on a song like Dot Cult's song YFB: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BuQojm2lH7M and this shit is amazing, the beat is dope as hell, and the lyrics aren't just mindless bullshit, granted they talk about drugs and sex, but they also talk about Occult related things. The thing is that the mainstream Rap Game is just so over run by fakes, and pushovers that these REAL rappers could never stand a chance to get into it. Undoubtedly the don't even want to. haha. Cheers, man! (Post deleted by PopeReptilianLord ) Ethan John: All u can do is talk shit while i am creative and make my shit real while u sit on wireclub playing with yerself. (Post deleted by PopeReptilianLord ) (Post deleted by PopeReptilianLord ) PopeReptilianLord: Mmmmh. If I'm not mistaken, it appears you are doing what you so vehemently spoke agaist. If you so wish to make an attempt at insulting someone, please think it over first. HAVE A LOVELY DAY. OmnicroN_2017: loll i come back on and he sends me like a TON of hate messages. talk about being a hypocrite. and i was just making a little fun of you I dont know why you are talking it so harshly.....sorry i dident like ur cute little drag video (Post deleted by PopeReptilianLord ) (Post deleted by PopeReptilianLord ) Aura: New-ish problem actually. I don't really like rap. But I do have Public Enemy albums. I guess old school rap was allowed to say a bit more than "here's my gun, here's my bitch" and get popular. DEEP_acheleg: i thought- pre doggystyle, that there was some good, thoughtful rap, such as outkast (atliens, and aquimeni, especially), and bone thugs (1999 eternal, in particular). some of the beastie boys later albums had some songs about socio/political issues. of course, since gangsta rap became just "rap", all these groups have been re-labeled as hip-hop PopeReptilianLord: Outkast and bonethugs have some good lyrics, beastie boys had some. And Omnicro, AOTP is dope shit. Love Jedi Mind Tricks. | Music Chat Room 20 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
