Why do I feel tired all the time? StarryStarryNight: Hi all.. I'm 37 and I've been experiencing a significant dip in my energy level...I've been trying to eat right and healthy, sleeping early and getting up early, I don't go to the gym, but I walk for exercise. I just find that I tire more easily now than before...say, 2-3 years before...is this common? I've stayed away from vitamin supplements coz when I used to take them, my body would feel heaty. I want to be able to do more in my day but somehow this constant tiredness is preventing me from getting the fullest from my day. I feel best in the mornings..but as the day progresses and by the time I get home from work in the evenings..I can't seem to do much else except stay in bed... Does anyone know what would help? cowpoker: Tiredness could be caused by just about anything. Might even be old age! But if it's just tiredness without any other symptoms, iron deficiency is probably the first suspect. (And if you've tried to perk up by drinking more coffee, which inhibits uptake, it can become a bit circular.) But you should probably have a blood test to check first, especially as supplements don't agree with you. Or see if just being a bit more carnivorous helps? (Edited by cowpoker) StarryStarryNight: Thank you for your post, cowp. My last blood test about a year ago showed that everything was normal...bummer. Lol! And I have been taking less red meat for some time now, having preference for white meat. Not sure if that could be the cause. Here are top 10 health benefits of vitamin B12 you should know about. 1.
