Chronic Back Pain (Page 2) goldenleaves: Anyone requiring temporary medication relief, I suggest either taking Robax, which has ibuprofen and methocarbamol (an anti-inflammatory pain reliever and muscle relaxant, respectively), or Robaxacet, which has acetaminophen and methocarbamol (pain reliever and muscle relaxant, respectively). Pay attention to any allergies you may have, to better choose the right medication. nurse_kaz: ye i know what u feels like. i had a work injury 4 yrs ago when i first graduated as a nurse. i have chronic pain in my back after i got hit by a patient. they havent been able to find out where there pain is or why its there. ive had xrays, been on pain medications, had physio, acupunctung and chiro. the only thing that seems to bring some some relief is going to c a chiropractor. pain is a difficult thing to assess as everyones pain threshold is different. ppl get funny over back pain. babyboomer1961: Yes for 30 years I had suffered back pain. I am now pain free and living my life. I did find something that really works if you like to know what it is please email me at my4dollarstory@y****.com authorj: Yes. I have a herniated disc and two degenerated discs so at least I know what is causing my pain. spacecowboy: Pain affects people in very different ways.....I have suffered with back pain for years because of an injury and at the time of the injury an MRI was done finding a birth defect I was not aware of. Ergonomics has worked for me, just learning not to use your back to lift has kept me able to work and also staying active is a big plus.....Walking, riding, ect...... Don't give in to the pain or you may find yourself dependent on pain meds!! lookingforfrien: Anyone here suffer from arthritis of the spine? Even if you are in good shape, it is somewhat hereditary too. It's pretty hard to get a new spine nowadays. I've seen 2 different neurologists and they say the same thing. Pain for the rest of your life if you don't want pain, take pain medication. jynx: I have a friend who suffered spine pain for the past years. He recently got rid of it. He told me that before, he took different types of medications and didn't really make the pain go away. It keeps on coming back. Only when he tried some nutritional products, it supposedly attacked the root of the problem and made the pain disappeared. If you want to know information, please let me know and I can ask my friend. lookingforfrien: Sure, that would be great if you could give me any information you can. I've had this and that done and i'm tired of taking medication. Thanks for the help. BlueOlive2: Stenosis of the spine..yes you will pretty much have it all your life..surgery is last resort..my husband was just diagnosed with it spankdmonkey: Well workingin fitnes and sports ,and playing them have seen quite a few back pain problems What works for one might not work for others .I do remedial and theraputic massage always good for chronic back pain depends how good the person is though i can also click necks in ,manipulate discs back into place know some pressure points to ., Chiropratic is okay as someone said above its pseudo but it works well sometimes depending what is causing the back pain ,And that could be a number of reasons .Someone mentioned accupuncture is another alternative me personally never had it done some people say its okay . I have fixed more backs by massage then doctors do by pain killers ,As a lot are caused by stress posture sitting to long in the one position ,Tension ,knots in the neck and in the shoulder blades . When you have a sore back and you stand and push your knuckles into the back because it is sore what happens you hear these clicks sometimes it could be your disc slipping back in .But mostly it is air getting pushed out between the bones and discs it is actually nitrogen to be honest thats why it clicks its secreted away between vertabres and when you get massaged you hear click click click .thats the nitrogen being released igniting same as when you crack your knuckles What the best thing to do for back pain is to avoid it and it is not so hard if you follow a few easy steps .Firstly take a small flat cushion to work to sit on or to prop behind your back to make you more posture perfect and comfortable .Stretch before you sit down before work if you intend to sit for hours .And go for regular walks or even stand accasionally .do a few little stretch and breathing exercises throughout the day im only talking about a minute 3 or 4 times a day There is other stuff like elevation boots physio etc etc .But the best cure is prevention gooney: we called it"腰间盘凸出"in china,,,there are many ways to cure it .eg,jnjection o3...and so on..but most effective method i know is physical treatment .it means doctor pull you arm or you led to make your bone original site..of couse it a little danger to do that.. many of my relative be cured by this way. one of my foreign firend KH pain like this.he is arab .i go hospital with him but doctor afrid of curing him by physical method .. anthoer people told me that KH ,,,sleep too much???his words confuse me really/..he said ..with his wife ,lol .he want to do that whenever.as same time ,2wifes be married Lazarus65: Pain sucks, Injured my back in 93, I have managed to come back, get in shape and return to work. Have had 4 more injuries since, filing for Dissabilaty. sad fact is that if I had medical I could with treatment and pain management I could work but the only way I can get medical is through Diss. And when I do return to work I will lose the medical I need to continue working. Lazarus65: I hate trying to explain or rate my pain. There is no way to accurately do so. Lets just say that I have left a heat-pad on so long that my back is permanently scarred because that felt better than my back does on a daily bassis. |
