Halo is life. - That Pretentious Guy (Edited by struanrobertson02) Wajih122: interesting....so why did you switch from xbox to ps4? like are there exclusive games that made you do it? struanrobertson02: It wasn't an Xbox One mind you, it was a white 360, very old model, it was on the verge of dying sometimes, very dead now. But my choice to get an Xbox One or a PS4 after was quite hard, I've heard biased views all the time, Xbox with more but with the help of facts I thought the PS4 fit me more. PS4 was more about gaming, with superior visuals and quality. While Xbone was more about home entertainment. I only cared about the gaming side. I think things have changed since then, and Microsoft are doing better with cool tech like Holo Lens and VR Headsets. As well as them making wider connection of players and games with Backwards Compatibility. but whereether Soft likes it or not, I'm not going back. Metaverseguy: Most companies are pretty late with VR technology. The high initial costs after they raised the prices again on new gen systems meant only the elite could afford it. This of course, meaning people who can afford to worry about having a lot of leisure time, and unsatisfied with the current gaming leisure time, to try and make gaming even more exciting, while parents have to try and make it seem more like they are using drugs by having fun. I'm sure there are a lot of practical uses for VR technology, that are of course much more important than shooting zombies and aliens and stuff. For instance, physical therapy for one. There was talk that it is going to be used to simulate travel experiences, which would negatively affect the travel agencies, but many companies are replacing people with robots and machines anyways. The holo lens will be cool I suppose. I think people might answer or return my calls if it was a hologram rather than a boring audio or videocall. I kind of wanted to be a farmer. I guess that farming simulator made it seem fun. Maybe VR can make it seem even more fun so there is less famine or drought for the majority of us and we can sit back and relax without having to try and eat synthetic, GMO food because of scarcity the government may or may not announce. Not only is Sony pursuing the VR, but Samsung, Xbox which bought the rights from Microsoft, and Nintendo. So clearly they are afraid of losing profits if they don't dominate the market, but will the highest-earning company produce the best technology? Which product will last the longest without updates, and withstand being dropped, smashed, kicked, can play video without losing framerate, allow games that have the most memory- 3GB is the new standard size for most video games being released today or much more, and RAM is using over 8GB as a minimum requirement when it used to be 256KB. Will Japanese games dominate the market like always, or will NTSC be a standard, so we don't have to wait for PAL games to be translated, or re-released into the current voltage and amps that is US-standard. Will the new VR-tech be responsible for mass-murderers like before, or are they going to release games that will be suitable for all ages and help improve the economy? So many unanswered questions. struanrobertson02: Best part is, The Last Of Us remastered on PS4 is even better! The game is brilliant. cms11: Just got it over the weekend. I beat the PS3 version and really enjoined it. I dabbled in Left Behind DLC and the difference between the PS3 & PS4 was stark. The PS4 graphics, color tones and amazing textures are sick! Sony will likely break news and a trailer of God of War 4 @ E3 this week. I'm psyched. struanrobertson02: I'm all for the Skyrim Remaster (Ahh, the memories), and the new Elder Scrolls too! Makes me want to play PS4 Again, Overwatch looks bloody rad. Metaverseguy: Yea companies are most likely going to force consumers to upgrade their consoles and everything on them soon enough. I was browsing through Redbox today and there was a selection of 0 previous generation games to rent. Most companies are making games for new-gen stuff, or remaking old shit and marketing it as new. They shut the servers off for the system 2 generations (ps2, gamecube, xbox 180, etc.) approx. 1 year ago so hopefully the previous latest gens, or current gens for those who don't want to buy the stuff will at least last another 2 years before they rape our wallets and gouge us with their bullshit terms, horrible customer service, and expensive exclusive membership clubs with boring benefits that suck and no one wants anyways.
