Chess KidBlaze98: Yeah, I still play every once in while. I use to play against my big bro a lot and online a lot but I stopped playing as much. Nano: Well I was the chess champion of BC for 4 years in a row. Actually I wasn’t but that’s what I tell people before we start a chess game to physic them out. Cheers!
Nosferatu: I have an electronic chess set that I play occasionally and they hold tournaments for children at a new park they opened up around here. I'd play more often with my friends, but they shy away from that stuff. Guess it's time for some new friends. otcclass2008: My husband has been learning and playing for the past 5 years now.. He is the chess champion for the area where I live. He has played others online and has won most (over 3/4) of the games he has played. There are also times when he does not play to win but to stalemate. That usually does anger the person that he is playing against.. *lol* MerchantPark: Everyone thinks they're a "chess champion" until they play with some good players. You have to play real rated OTB (over-the-board) tournaments with rated tournament players to get an idea of how good you are. Any novice can win 3/4 on a weak site with weak players. I win close to 100% of my games on sites like that, such as uchess. chesscube, etc. Tell me what his winning % is against rated tournament expert and master level players, such as myself. otcclass2008: I would have to say that Spain, Naples, and France have the most chess champions. USA only has one chess champion in the whole time the championships have been going on.. *lol* MerchantPark: You really should learn how to do a bit of simple research before you start typing away like a mindless automaton. To educate you; France has produced ZERO world chess champions. You can scarecly consider the Russian born and Russian trained Alexander Alekhine to be a frenchman after only immigrating there after defecting from Russia. Spain has produced ZERO world chess champions. Naples has produced......(you guessed it) ZERO world chess champions. The USA has produced one world chess champion....the late Bobby Fischer. Russia has produced 10 world chess champions to date. (More than all the other nations combined). otcclass2008: MerchantPark Where do you get your info from please?? I find that Verdoni won for France Alexandre Deschapelles in Louis-Charles Mahé de La Bourdonnais in Pierre Charles Fournier de Saint-Amant in For Spain you have: Franci de Castellvi Narcis Vinyoles Vernat Fenollar Francec Vecent Luis Ramirez de Lucena Ruy Lopez de Seguara As for Naples: Leonardo da Cutri Giulio Polerio Alessandro Salvio Gioachino Greco sorry to have to educate you.. Look these names up if you don't believe me.. *lol* MerchantPark: "MerchantPark Where do you get your info from please??" If you're not capable of figuring out how to do some simple research and confirm what I've told you, I have to ask who turned the computer on for you? The same person who ties your shoelaces? There are literally HUNDREDS of websites that publish the world chess champions. Some even give detailed biographies of the players. You stated that the USA has only produced 1 'champion', so you were clearly talking about undisputed world chess champions, otherwise you would have to include Morphy (who was widely considered the strongest player of his time), in addition to Fischer. The players you listed were merely local masters of note, going back to the 1400's through the mid 1800's before there was anything whatsoever resembling a world chess championship. I'm very familiar with all of them and I've studied their games. The first world chess champion was Wilhelm Steinitz (1886–1894)from Austria-Hungary. The current world chess champion is Viswanathan Anand from India. He is scheduled to defend his title next year against the Bulgarian Veselin Topalov, who is also the highest rated player in the world. You're an idiot who has no idea of what it is you are talking about. I could beat you blindfolded in chess easily, and probably also with a material and time spot. If you have any guts lets meet online for a few games so I can humiliate you over the chess board as I've already done to you in this forum. I'll even let you pick the server where we play. MerchantPark: No, they were not "champions". I already explained to you that these were merely notable historical players. This is the problem when an idiot is given internet access. You know nothing at all about a subject, then believe hook line and sinker, or simply take things out of context, at the first website you googled. I've written articles on some of the players you mentioned. Have you even seen a single one of the games of any of those players? otcclass2008: Park: I think you need to write to all these different internet websites then and let them know just how much they have history wrong then.. How about that?? And while you are at re-write the chess history books, too. You up to that??? *G* MerchantPark: Look moron, I've already explained to you ad nauseum what you got wrong and how you got it wrong. You're a casual chess enthisiast who thought you were being *clever* by mindlessly regurgitating and paraphrasing what you thought you read at some website. No chess "history books" need be re-written, because nobody as presumptuous and patently stupid as you has ever written a chess book (historical or otherwise). You're continuing to make up nonsense as you go along. Since you're demonstrably not intelligent enough to figure out how to look up one of the hundreds )or perhaps thousands) of chess websites that document the history of champions, i'll post a link for you here this time. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Chess_Championship You can also refer to Kasparov's "My Great Predecessors" book series and read up on many of these famous players from the past. Now go and take your medication! MerchantPark: It's also very interesting (as well as telling) how you refused to respond to my challenge of a chess match. I even let you pick the server we play at and you STILL backed down. I'm even willing to let you and your hubby team up against me. You'll continue to back down because at this point you realize you ran into someone who actually knows what it is he's talking about. otcclass2008: Park: and you believe Wiki? Sorry but just about anyone can post to that place.. why don't you try to find a more credible place to come up with??? MerchantPark: OMG, I'm literally dealing with a mentally retarded person here. I posted the wiki link because it is well organized and easy to read, so even an idiot like you could possibly comprehend the material. Why don't you pull your head out of your fat ass and try to learn how to THINK before you start typing. Re-read my previous posts. Everything has been explained to you already. otcclass2008: Park: I think you need to start posting something with more intellegence if you don't wish to be seen as retarded yourself.. *lol* MerchantPark: For starters, my ugly, vapid looking little four eyed friend, you don't have the capacity to "think" whatsoever. I PROVED that you're an idiot to everyone following this thread and you're STILL making posts? It's unbelievable. Why are you even posting in this thread in the first place. At this point I'd be surprised if you even knew how to set up the pieces on a chess board. You're a mentally retarded loser troll. Obviously there is no s%y going on in your marriage which is why you spend your every waking moment making nonsensical forum postings in threads you know nothing about. MerchantPark: Here we go....an obese troll retard jumps into the fray. This moron's profile pic looks like a plastic surgery session gone very very wrong. Look dipstick, If you have nothing topical and relevant to contribute to the thread, don't bother posting at all. I really shouldn't need to have to hold your hand and explain this simple concept to you. Nosferatu: LOL someone takes this site too seriously. I think you've been hanging around chess tournament geeks too long bro. | Games Chat Room Similar Conversations |
