Metaverseguy: Well here's some terrible dishes: meatloaf, tuna casserole, and that surprise meal at a foreign restaurant where you can't read the menu and end up getting the foulest dish ever served.

The best meal IMO is usually the easiest. A 6-10 oz steak, with sauteed onions, and some horse radish, sometimes seasoned and served with mashed potatoes and a small salad. 90% of restaurants serve it and it's ez to pick up at the deli and BBQ yourself while a football game is on or something.

And people actually look forward to chicken, steak, or fish rather than a hot dog. When dad or the host cooks up hot dogs or hamburgers on the grill it's usually because it's the easiest thing in the world to cook - and they even buy chips and potato salad to go with it because that's also less work. But if they bring out something like sausage or some pineapples for shish kabob you know they just aren't grilling for the hell of it because they were coerced into a family picnic, but have really good taste and mean business.

Usually if they hire a caterer they're shelling some money for the event, but I haven't been to anything more sophisticated than Thanksgiving dinner in nearly a year and hell I'd join the Black Panthers if I found out they had a meeting where they were planning on serving BBQ ribs, lasagna, or even an omelette.
