Rain!

jink88
jink88: We need rain here in Ontario so bad. The grass is straw and everything dying. Can't remember such a dry summer. Forest fires in Algonquin Park bad news. No camping allowed.

Corwin: Yup. I'm also an Ontario dude.... no rain... it sucks. I had high hopes for my landscape photography this year, but our lovely land looks like death... death by dehydration.

I feel trapped inside with air-conditioning, like we are trapped inside through a terrible winter.

2012 sucks.

I should focus on my writing... I wish I would have known this in advance... instead of waiting by the door ready and waiting for our land to wake up from last winter's slumber... this is a Spring that never came... it already looks like fall.

lavendar_star: Interesting, in the UK we've had nothing but rain, floods up and down the country and its been only since the middle of this week after 4 months that we've had sun and no rain, the earth is strange place. Hope it rains for you Canadians soon.

jink88: I know what you mean. I feel summer is slipping away, just too hot to do anything. We also have a water shortage so the garden was a waste of time.

jink88: My friend was in UK and she said it was cold and rainy. Out west we have floods from the winter snow melting so fast.

Corwin: We had a beautiful Maple tree that we had planted ourselves (such a Canadian tree)... it had been doing so well for about the last 6 years... it was about 10 feet tall, and so healthy........ we came home from work last week, and it was dead. Leaves shriveled... it never occurred to us to water "trees"... we had other trees die this year..... but that was our baby. I'm heart-broken.

jink88: We have already had 3 pine trees fall this yr. I can image watching it grow for 6 yrs. and then thats it. Usually the roots can go deep for water but there just isn't any. Are you sure it is totally dead? Try watering it at night.

lavendar_star: Its so bizarre, we had a hosepipe ban for the impeding water shortages due to not having that much rain in the winter and then it rainy its ass off here lol. However, the few times when we get very hot weather I know how suffocating and frustrating it can be my sympathies are with you. We feel the same here about our summer slipping away too. good luck in the humid heat which is so horrid.

Corwin: You think? I looks so dead... I would love to breathe life back into it.

Corwin: Thanks jink.... I will try that... my wife still waters her flower garden... but watering trees never occurred to us... I wish I knew ahead of time... I would have been on top of it... but I will try that... we loved that tree.

Oh, just so you know... we live without "town water"... we live on a cistern... we catch rain water, and have to pay about $60 for a fill of about 1600 gallons... but I would pay anything to bring that beautiful tree back to life.

Have you ever read "Dune"? LOL
