Favorite fantasy book? (Page 11) Metaverseguy: HBO will finish the series before George RR Martin does. I wonder how that will turn out. autumnal_box: Well, for sure it will deviate from the books. Its a good and bad thing, I suppose... book readers don't know what's coming next and so the power of spoilage won't be used to threaten people. LOL. Dalai Mama: oh yeah I forgot about that series autumn!! I find they always mess up the pictures the authors put in my head with movies lol Change characters looks etc. Although lord of the rings was sweet Metaverseguy: game of thrones is nice. i remember hearing about song of ice and fire before it became big and into a tv show. good thing they picked a great cast but i choose netflix over hbo so i gotta wait until they release on dvd or otherwise get hbo go. a lot of fantasy stories are really hit and miss. takes a lot of time to become as good a writer as tolkien. personally i think he easily tops cs lewis, except for perhaps lion, witch and the wardrobe. i'm tired of picking up a book then reading 100 pages hoping for it to turn into something nice then being forced to throw it in the trash and burn it to ashes and using a crucifix to ward away its evil curse. anime is pretty good fantasy sometimes. alright most of the time it's senseless fighting with crap story and awkward costume design, but beats searching through hundreds of books at the library to try and find something worth reading. ever watch the sy-fy channel? dear god why do they even try. how can they waste all the film roll on making a pilot for awful platititudes such as 'sharknado', zombie romance films, alien gangster flicks, and other garbage that should have been garbaged with the creator executed by a firing squad and his/her entire family dipped in an acid bath? Innuendo75: The entire RA Salvatore Dark Elf series of trillogies is an amazing journey. Game of Thrones was a good series to and fantastic coming to life in the show. mishamigo: the Eragon series by Christopher Paolini. great plot, plenty of detail, action packed battles and a good lump of humor. what more could you want from a book? oh, yeah, and there's DRAGONS!!!!! | Books Chat Room Similar Conversations |
