My male bird is constanting chasing my female bird for sex

ebonygirl12
ebonygirl12: My male bird wont stop focing my female bird for sex. I am thinking about separating them. They are in the same cage. He chases her around the cage day and night and i feel so sorry for her. He is truly annoying. Once he gets to mate with her, he is calm for the day and then the next day the chase begins again.

Are there any bird lovers out there? If so what do u suggest? Should i place each bird in a separate cage or should i just keep them together?

Owen49: I'd put them in separate cages that were close enough together they'd not feel like they were abandoned.

ebonygirl12: Yeah, i think i should do that. I really believe my male bird is getting way too carried away with her. I dare to say "rape" or maybe i should not. lol

Thanks Owen

PlasticBagBoy: Yes, you should put them in seperate cages but them close together. Also you should place a mirrior in males cage, it'll trick him in to thinking there is another partner in the cage. It would also be good to add in a few toys for the male so he can exercise it should help him overcome those hormones. At least a little!

ebonygirl12: lol. Yeah, they have a few toys in there: a bell, a mirrow etc. But i will buy more. Thanks for suggesting a rope. I will see what other toys i can buy them each so they will have the same toys in each cage.
