My Pregnant Cat. maddi26: Okay, I have a pregnant cat named Nimbly, and I think that she is close to giving birth, I just don't know how soon :/ Her signs so far are: -She is absolutely massive. Like she swallowed a basket ball. -Her teats are large and pink, but not full of milk (the hair is gone around them) -She is very affectionate -She seems to be searching around the house a lot -She is grooming a lot as well I know that cats are preggers for nine weeks, the problem is, she's a stray that I adopted about two months ago, (I found her in my shed with five little kittens, I live on a farm so I fear she was dumped as no-one from my town has stepped forward from my adds) and while I was saving up money to get her de-sexed after the kittens were weaned, she disappeared for about two and a half weeks, then came back with pink teates. That how I knew she was preggers again. I know some might think it irresponsible, but I could never have her and her kitties put down, I adopted her, and I shall take full responsibility for her. Her last litter all went to good homes, and this one will too (I already have a couple of people interested). Anyway, could anyone tell me how close she is to giving birth? Thank-you very much, Maddi. jink88: 62-63 days is the time of pregnancy. If she starts nesting that's a good sign of babies being born. Let us all know OK? maddi26: Oooook, she gave birth yesterday. Five little kitties, 4 tan/really light ginger and white and one grey/brown jennebraska: All the signs you describe are good indications, you can gentely feel the babies and see if they have dropped. Also examine her private area when you think she is close cats have a tendency to dilate for days before. Be sure to leave her plenty of water, and when I was raising kittens when I knew their time was close, I would buy them some good quality moist food to help with any possible constipation. When it comes to nesting I always found them a nice dark spot, put a box in it and an old fashion heating pad on a low setting. Worked all three litters, she had the babies there and they were cozy, and healthy. Best bet is always to leave Momma alone though after she delivers. Good luck and enjoy your babbies. | Animals Chat Room 7 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
