My german shepherd is to "wild" around female dogs. What do I do? TaylorJRheney: I have a male german shepherd. He is a really obedient, usually calm dog. Whenever a female dog walks by or comes into the dog park, he goes crazy. He will attack other male dogs and hump females. This is bad because he is not neutered. I don't want to have to neuter him. Is there any other options?? Please HELP! CrimsonJezebel: as a dog trainer...neutering is your best option....chances are he will always act like this in public while unaltered CrimsonJezebel: he is an animal...he has hormones racing through him, all training goes out the window when hormones are raging Hyenablood: one of two choices : 1.) neuter him so he acts more polite and doesn't get any bitch pregnate. 2) keep him locked up, never going out in public again, lest he humiliates you. on the neutering thing, if you snip and clip, there is much less chance of him digging under the fence or running off on you to go roming through the streets looking for that one girl who smells like heaven, less chance of him running into traffic and being killed as well. Horny dogs do not look both ways before darting out onto the freeway. One less dead dog to worry about slipping the leash when you least expect it. Hyenablood: never underestimate a horny dog's determination, when you're not looking - BAM, that's when he'll make his excape. He's probably already has scoped out the yard and found the weakest point. Hyenablood: sounds like a great life, tied up, not free, sorry I don't mean to judge but what if you were tied up and locked in the house all day ? knowing that on the other side of the fence was a bunch of attrative, playboy bunnies follicking around, giggling and laughing loud enough for you to hear ? would that drive you mad ? The best person is the dog whisperer, Cesar Millan. he has dealt with male hormones before and simple disobedience. he can let you gain control back. work on getting the dog on the treadmill and let him work it all off on his own. he may need more exercise than you, he was bred to be a high energy dog. my best advice. good luck! | Animals Chat Room 17 People Chatting Similar Conversations |
