10 most practical martial art... (Page 5)

JeanYves72
JeanYves72: So punching and kicking thin air is what you do? As for the 'techniques' you are not actually doing anything. Just hitting or throwing a dummy. Have you heard of the saying 'A man who represents himself has a fool for a lawyer" ? That goes for self-taught people as well. Why not put something up where you are actually doing a 'technique' against another person? But then maybe not as I can see no control. Where is the weapons experts accreditations? Where did he learn from? A persons words when they are 'challenged' says a lot about their self-control in real life.

How did you call me out? You remind me of a 16 year old I used to work with. Even look like him a little. He also had the same ego-driven need to 'prove' himself. Nothing, and I mean nothing, takes the place of a good instructor. No matter how much you practice there is a risk that you are learning bad habits. Good training leads to good habits and skill. Bad training, self training, leads to bad habits and limited, very limited skill.

JeanYves72: A little angry are we. What you are doing is far from training. And anyone with an I.Q above the single digits would do well to stay well away from your 'training'. I was going to tell you why by disecting your videos. But then I figure a little knowledge would be a very bad thing for you. It is easy to throw punches and kicks in thin air. But what about a person who moves? What about a bag that offers some resistance? And dude, wear a shirt or get a tan. You look like you should be sitting outside a small mountain cabin with a jug of 'shine and married to your cousin Becky May.

What you don't realise is that I have total control here. I am using logic, intelligence. You are carrying on and throwing around macho posturing and you are obviously feeling very threatened. Read books by the true masters. Study their lives, philosophy, thoughts. You will see that there is nothing wrong with admiting that you need correction. It takes a man, a real man, to acknowledge when he needs some form of help, guidance. I should know what it takes as I have been a man for as long as you have been alive.

Nothing that you show on the videos is practical. Your natural ability is in deluding yourself. Find an art that you want to live, find a teacher who will gain your respect through example, learn, train, practice and persist. Even those who have developed their own styles have spent decades in other arts.

As for a video I have nothing to prove to anyone. I know my abilities. I know my knowledge. Your challenge shows that you do not understand what I have been saying and only proves what I have been saying about your attitude.

JeanYves72: Wow, such anger. For someone with an I.Q of 158 you have a grammatical quality of someone below 58. Even my 7 year old knows about punctuation. Your writing style is very E.E. Cummings who did not use punctuation or capitals. Oh, by the way, I have olive skin, my natural colouring. I am not 50, but almost 40, I am not homophobic so using such a derogatory term to describe homosexuality in an attempt to upset or insult me is not going to work, my comment was more based on the stereotype of trailer trash rather than of nationality, have you heard of a stand for the camera?, or using something as a stand?. What you are doing cannot be classed as training, just a kid living in a very dangerous fantasy world. Everything about you, your pictures, your writing, even your video shows a child who is very ego driven.

How am I attacking you? I am just stating my opinion based on life experience and working with kids who spoke and 'trained' like you. How have I no control when you are the one issuing challenges, insults and abuse? herein lies the danger for you in the real world. Someone only has to 'challenge' your prowess as a 'martial artist' and you will be drawn in to purely ego based conflict. Unless you learn to curb the aggression and ego you are in real danger.

JeanYves72: As I have inferred to in previous statements aaron, you are easily provoked. What you claim is contradicted by what you write. I actually hold no animosity towards you. I am, though, using carefully positioned comments to provoke a reaction in you in the hope that you will realise that you have no control. You are off balance here. You are not blending at all but resisting. You are worked up and using all of you strength while I am flowing. Martial arts need all 3 components for it's not just the training of the body and perfecting techniques, but also the study of human nature, and of ourselves. That's why you need a proper instructor. One who will guide you through example on the nuances of not just the physical aspects but also of the more subtler aspects of the arts.

JeanYves72: The word "keisaku" may be translated as "warning stick", and is wielded by the jikijitsu. "Encouragement stick" is a common translation for "kyōsaku". In Soto Zen, the kyōsaku is always administered at the request of the meditator, by way of bowing one's head and putting the palms together in gassho, and then exposing each shoulder to be struck in turn. In Rinzai Zen, the stick is requested in the same manner, but may also be used at the discretion of the Ino, the one in charge of the meditation hall. Even in such cases, it is not considered a punishment, but a compassionate means to reinvigorate and awaken the meditator who may be tired from many sessions of zazen.

My 'provocation' is being used to try and help you see what you are doing. This is the word version of the Zen practice in the previous paragraph. You have no form. You have no substance. What you have is a fantasy of starting your own martial art to feed your ego which you hide your low self-esteem behind. You constantly talk about how good you are. Why do you feel that need? I don't go on about all my skills, achievements, attributes. I have no need to. I know what I can and cannot do. I know just how much I still have to learn. You are raging out of control with the little boy name calling and blustering.

Your view is not strict. It is narrow. As for the true side of life well I am almost 40 and have had some interesting experiences. You are half my age so you have only just begun. I am not better than anyone else. I am not saying how wonderful I am. I am just trying to help a kid learn in a way that is easier than the way he is determined to learn. And a lot less painful one.

JeanYves72: I notice that you tend to go in lots of 2 here. 2 short comments. There are 3 ways that people learn and the way that they learn best. Listening, reading and doing it themselves. I have trouble with retaining information that I am told in person. But if I see something then I can understand it better. That is how I learn. And thanks to ninjutsu I have learnt how to study the more subtle aspects such as angles, power source etc. You can get a lot of a persons personality through their words and if you have the chance their movement. Their attitude is mirrored in their actions.

As for what is best for you well it's best for everyone. Unless you have the proper guide the all you are doing is repeating bad habits and missing the more subtle aspects that make the technique works. It is timing and positioning that does it. The technique does itself, not you.

JeanYves72: The only thing you have a natural gift for is ego and arrogance young fella. From what I saw in your videos all I saw was momentum and strength. Timing, distancing and angles are what makes a technique. My 7 year old showed more control when he was 5 after doing tae kwon do for 4 months. Even with his temper. Sorry mate...you are not naturally gifted.

JeanYves72: I arts I am interested in and study are ninjutsu and Aikido. Not tae kwon do. Different countries. The remarks and comments you make are arrogant. They are: I'm naturally gifted but you aren't; I'm smarter than you; you are mad I'm better than you; I called you out etc. You ignore what those who have studied in various forms for longer you have been alive to 'create' your own 'style'. You think you don't need guidance. You are only a kid. Even people 3 times your age still get guidance from those with more experience and knowledge.

As for Spiritual he has more sense than me. He knows when to walk away from things. I'm a little more stubborn. Still have to learn. As for your training partner why would I listen to him? He is in the same fantasy world as you. When you call another names and rant about how good you are that shows arrogance, immaturity and no control. I was like that once. I had to learn for myself. You have the chance to learn from others. If you can get past the wall your ego has thrown up.
